EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill would amend the Liquor Corporation Act to allow liquor stores and liquor agency stores to sell wine and spirits on all days other than statutory holidays set out in paragraph 4(1)(a) of the Shops' Closing Act.  Currently, the Act prohibits the sale of wine and spirits by liquor stores and liquor agency stores on Sundays.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

        1. Paragraph 50(1)(b) of the Liquor Corporation Act is repealed and the following substituted:

             (b)  on a day that is a holiday under paragraph 4(1)(a) of the Shops' Closing Act.
