Highway Traffic Demerit Point System Regulations (Amendment)
under the
Highway Traffic Act

Under the authority of section 186 of the Highway Traffic Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations.

CNR 753/96

        1. Paragraph 2(h) of the Highway Traffic Demerit Point System Regulations is amended by adding immediately after the word "person" a comma and the words and comma "after December 31, 1999,".

        2. (1) Section 5 of the regulations is amended by adding immediately after the words "probationary driver" wherever they occur the words "or novice driver".

             (2)  Subsection 5(4) of the regulations is amended by adding immediately after the words "non-probationary driver" the words "or non-novice driver".

        3. (1) Paragraph 7(a) of the regulations is amended by adding immediately after the words "probationary driver" the words "or a novice driver".

             (2)  Paragraph 7(b) of the regulations is amended by adding immediately after the words "non-probationary driver" the words "or non-novice driver".

        4. (1) The Schedule to the regulations is amended under the heading "Highway Traffic Act" by adding immediately after the row and columns referring to paragraph "55(4)(e)" the following:
