Pharmacy Network Regulations
under the
Personal Health Information Act

Under the authority of paragraphs 90(1)(i) and (k) of the Personal Health Information Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations.

Short title

        1. These regulations may be cited as the Pharmacy Network Regulations.

Definitions

        2. In these regulations

             (a)  "Act" means the Personal Health Information Act; and

             (b)  "Centre for Health Information" means the centre established under the Centre for Health Information Act.

Designation of network

        3. The Pharmacy Network operated by the Centre for Health Information is designated as an information network for the purpose of paragraph 39(4)(c) of the Act.

Information to be disclosed

        4. The information that may be disclosed via the pharmacy network shall be as determined by the Centre for Health Information, with the advice of a committee including representatives of the government, the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador, where the centre decides to establish one.
