Under the authority of section 187 of the Highway Traffic Act, I make the following regulations.

1. Section 9 of the Vehicles Regulations, 2001 is amended by adding immediately after paragraph (i) the following:

(i.1) notwithstanding paragraph (i), a vehicle used for the purpose of snow clearing or winter maintenance which, including its auxiliary equipment or attachments, has a total width of more than 3.66 metres;

2. Section 16 of the regulations is amended by renumbering it as subsection 16(1) and by adding immediately after that subsection the following:

(2) A vehicle operated for the purpose of snow clearing or winter maintenance by or on behalf of a municipal, provincial or federal authority shall be exempt from the width limitations described in these regulations.
