Medical Care Insurance Insured Services Regulations (Amendment)

Under the authority of section 47 of the Medical Care and Hospital Insurance Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations.

1. Paragraph 2(d) of the Medical Care Insurance Insured Services Regulations is repealed.

2. Section 3 of the regulations is amended by renumbering it as subsection 3(1) and by adding immediately after subsection (1) the following:

(2) For greater certainty, the medically necessary removal and replacement of a cataractous lens by any procedure is an insured service and shall be performed in a hospital or a facility designated by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council.

3. Paragraph 4(1)(x.1) of the regulations is repealed.
