Under the authority of section 43.41 of the Labour Standards Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations.

        1. The Labour Standards Regulations are amended by adding immediately after section 11.2 the following:

Designated communicable disease

   11.3 (1) COVID-19 is designated as a communicable disease for the purposes of Part VII.8 of the Act.

             (2)  For the purposes of subsection 43.39(3) of the Act, entitlement to communicable disease emergency leave in relation to COVID-19 is considered to have started on March 14, 2020.

Commencement

        2. These regulations are considered to have come into force on March 14, 2020.
