Commencement CNLR 1007/96 1. Sections 3 and 4 of the Licensing and Equipment Regulations are repealed. 2. Section 5 of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: Sale of vehicle 5. (1) Where a registration has been issued
for a vehicle owned by the provincial government, the
federal government or a municipality the vehicle shall not be offered for sale,
except to the federal government, provincial government or a municipality, until
the registration and identification plates issued in respect of that vehicle
have been returned to the registrar. (2) On receipt of the registration and identification plates referred to in subsection (1) the registrar shall immediately cancel the registration. 3. Paragraph 21(2)(e) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "his or her" and substituting the words "the minister's". 4. Subsection 28(3) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "his or her" and substituting the words "the minister's". 5. Paragraph 34(1)(b) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "the driver". 6. (1) Subsection 42.1(1) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "the inspector". (2) Subsection 42.1(2) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "his or her" wherever they appear and substituting the words "the carrier's". (3) Subsection 42.1(3) of the regulations is amended by (a) deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "an inspector"; (b) deleting the words "an inspector" and substituting the words "the inspector"; and (c) deleting the words "his or her" and substituting the words "the carrier's". (4) Subsection 42.1(4) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (4) A carrier or the carrier's representative shall give an
inspector all reasonable assistance to enable an inspector to carry out the
inspector's duties. (5) Subsection 42.1(5) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "the inspector". (6) Subsection 42.1(6) of the regulations is amended by (a) deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "the inspector"; and (b) deleting the words "his or her" and substituting the words "the carrier's". 7. (1) Subsection 42.2(1) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "the inspector". (2) Subsection 42.2(4) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "the inspector". 8. (1) Subsection 44.1(3) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "the qualified medical practitioner or the qualified nurse practitioner". (2) Subsection 44.1(4) of the regulations is amended by (a) deleting the words "him or her" and substituting the words "the registrar"; and (b) deleting the words "he or she" and substituting the words "the registrar or a person designated by the registrar". 9. Subsection 46(3) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (3) A person shall not sell, offer for sale or have in possession for sale in the province equipment or components for a motor vehicle which do not conform to the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act (Canada) CMVSS 108.1 Lighting Equipment and CMVSS 108.1 Headlamps, as amended. 10. (1) Subsection 48(1) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "his or her". (2) Subsection 48(3) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (3) A person shall not sell, offer for sale or have in possession for sale in the province equipment or components for a mobile home or recreational vehicle that do not conform to the requirements of the Canadian Standards Association, Standard Z 240 MH Series-92 and Z 240 RV Series-M86 (R1992) Vehicle Requirements for Mobile Homes and Recreational Vehicles, as amended. 11. Subsection 50.2(3) of the regulations is amended by deleting the words "his or her" and substituting the words "the inspector's". Commencement 12.
