Newfoundland and Labrador NEWFOUNDLAND Forest Fire Offence and Penalty Regulations (Amendment) (Filed August 8, 2025) Under the authority of section 155 of the Forestry Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations. S.2 Amdt. CNLR 10/96 1. Paragraphs 2(c) and (d) of the Forest Fire Offence and Penalty Regulations are repealed and the following substituted: (c) where the complaint is laid and summons issued by a means of a ticket (i) for a first offence, to a fine of $50,000 or, in default of payment, imprisonment for not more than 6 months, and (ii) for a subsequent offence, to a fine of $75,000 or, in default of payment, imprisonment for not more than 6 months; or (d) where the complaint is laid and summons issued by means other than a ticket (i) for a first offence, to a fine of not less than $50,000 and not more than $100,000 or, in default of payment, imprisonment for not more than one year, and (ii) for a subsequent offence, to a fine of not less than $75,000 and not more than $150,000 or, in default of payment, imprisonment for not more than one year. ©King's Printer |
