Town of Carmanville Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Carmanville Order .

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Carmanville are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulation 608/78 is repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at the point of highest elevation of Noggin Hill and then running south 44° west a distance of 1,525 metres, more or less, to a point in the centre line of the main highroad connecting Noggin Cove and Carmanville;

Then running south 24° west a distance of 6,850 metres, more or less, to a point in the southwest angle of Cynthia Pond;

Then running south 35° east a distance of 3,650 metres, more or less;

Then running north 71° east a distance of 6,350 metres, more or less;

Then running north 37° west a distance of 4,025 metres, more or less;

Then running north 16° east a distance of 4,975 metres, more or less, to a point in the shoreline known locally as Tea Kettle Point at the eastern entrance to Carmanville Harbour;

Then running in generally southwesterly and northerly directions along the sinuosities of the shorelines of Carmanville Harbour to a point known locally as Gaze Point at the western entrance to Carmanville Harbour ;

Then running south 27° west a distance of 825 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning.

All bearings being referred to the true meridian.
