Town of Channel - Port aux Basques Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Channel - Port aux Basques Order .

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Channel - Port aux Basques are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 602/78 and 177/83 are repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at a point on the southwesterly point of Yankee Rock, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence ;

Then north 22° west a distance of 5,900 metres, more or less;

Then north 75° 30' east a distance of 9,450 metres, more or less, to a high point locally known as Green Garden Tolt;

Then south 23° 45' east a distance of 4,150 metres, more or less, to the northeasternmost point of Little Bay;

Then in a generally southwesterly direction along the northern shore of Little Bay to its westernmost point known as Little Bay Head;

Then south 64° 10' west a distance of 2,590 metres, more or less, to the easternmost point of an island known as Channel Head;

Then south 68° 10' west a distance of 1,400 metres, more or less, to a point on an island known as Southwest Point;

Then south 84° 10' west a distance of 2,775 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning.

All bearings being referred to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation.
