Town of Come by Chance Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Come by Chance Order .

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Come by Chance are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 607/78 and 44/90 are repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at the southernmost extremity of Come by Chance Point, Placentia Bay , and running in a northeasterly direction to the summit of Powder Horn Hill;

Then north 35° 30' east a distance of 2,900 metres, more or less, to the summit of an unnamed hill;

Then due east to the centre line of the Trans Canada Highway ;

Then in a southerly direction via the centre line of the highway to a point, that point being 380 metres, more or less, north of the Arnold's Cove Access Road;

Then in a westerly direction 100 metres along a line perpendicular to the centre line of the Trans Canada Highway and then in a southwesterly direction to the highwater mark on the westernmost extremity of Whiffen Head, Placentia Bay;

Then along the sinuosities of the shoreline at the highwater mark, passing Fox Head, Come by Chance, to Come by Chance Point, the point of beginning.

Distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500, 1985 Crown Lands and Surveys Division Mapping and the 1:50,000, 1986 National Topographic Mapping.
