Town of Deer Lake Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Deer Lake Order .

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Deer Lake are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 186/93 and 28/94 are repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at a point on the southern shoreline of the Upper Humber River, that point being where the centre line of the Great Northern Peninsula Highway, Route 430, intersects the shoreline;

Then in a northeasterly direction along the shoreline to a point on the eastern shoreline of Junction Brook;

Then in a southeasterly direction along the shoreline to a point on the eastern end of Main Dam on the northern shoreline of Grand Lake ;

Then in a westerly direction along the southern side of Main Dam and the northern shoreline of the lake to a point on the southern shoreline of the Humber Canal ;

Then in a westerly direction along the southern shoreline of the Humber Canal/Glide Brook Steady/Humber Canal to the southernmost point of the canal;

Then due south 250 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then due west 1,950 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being on the eastern shoreline of Deer Lake ;

Then south 85° 00' west 2,700 metres, more or less, to a point on the western shoreline of Deer Lake;

Then north 4° 00' west 6,850 metres, more or less, to a point on the southern shoreline of an unnamed pond at the mouth of Coal Brook;

Then north 65° 30' east 2,250 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the intersection of the centre lines of 2 roads (Great Northern Peninsula Highway and Cormack Highway, abandoned sections);

Then in a southerly direction along the centre line of the Great Northern Peninsula Highway (abandoned section) and the Great Northern Peninsula Highway, Route 430, 4,650 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning.

All bearings herein refer to grid north and with distances and/or co-ordinates given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping.
