Town of Harbour Grace Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Harbour Grace Order .

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 187/93 and 29/94 are repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at a point on the highwater mark on the easternmost extremity of Feather Point;

Then in a southwesterly direction along the ridge of Feather Point to and along the centre line of Long Path Run to the intersection of an old woods road at co-ordinates north 5 281 374 metres and east 288 485 metres;

Then south 44° 00' west a distance of 1,220 metres, more or less, to a high point on Sheppards Hill having a spot elevation 153.5 metres;

Then south 48° 00' west a distance of 1,400 metres, more or less, to a high point on Sheppards Hill, to a high point, spot elevation 149.3;

Then south 20° 00' west a distance of 840 metres, more or less, to the westernmost extremity of Four Corner Pond;

Then south 72° 30' west a distance of 1,865 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 177.4 metres;

Then north 32° 30' west a distance of 830 metres, more or less, to the easternmost extremity of First Gulley Pond;

Then north 63° 30' west a distance of 670 metres, more or less, to the westernmost extremity of Muddy Hole Pond;

Then north 81° 30' west a distance of 365 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the centre line of the right-of-way of the western transmission line running into Harbour Grace;

Then north 41° 30' west a distance of 1,165 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being Crown Lands survey monument No. 93160 at co-ordinates north 5 280 043 metres and east 282 313 metres;

Then north 64° 15' west a distance of 895 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the intersection of the northern sideline of Line Road (or the southwest extension thereof) and the western side of an unnamed road running in a northwesterly direction to Spider Pond;

Then north 22° 00' west a distance of 1,295 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 136.5 metres at co-ordinates north 5 281 632 metres and east 281 019 metres;

Then north 49° 30' east a distance of 3,810 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the intersection of an unnamed road running in an easterly direction from Eastern Island Pond and the centre line of the abandoned Canadian National Railway right-of-way at co-ordinates north 5 284 095 metres and east 283 920 metres;

Then north 71° 00' east a distance of 3,810 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the intersection of the centre line of a power transmission line right-of-way and an unnamed road running in a westerly direction to Rocky Pond at co-ordinates north 5 285 333 metres and east 287 517 metres;

Then in a southeasterly direction along the centre line of the aforementioned woods road to its intersection with Mosquito Brook;

Then running in a northeasterly direction along the centre line of Mosquito Brook crossing the new Conception Bay Highway to the brook's intersection with the centre line of the Canadian National Railway right-of-way;

Then in a southeasterly direction along the centre line of the right-of-way a distance of 1,280 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being due east of the northeastern extremity of an unnamed pond;

Then north 76° 30' east a distance of 985 metres, more or less, to an intersection of a woods road and an unnamed road running from Bears Cove to Bristol's Hope;

Then north 58° 00' east a distance of 805 metres, more or less, to a point on a height of land, that point being Crown Lands monument No. M-160302;

Then north 51° 00' east a distance of 1,390 metres, more or less, to a point on a height of land, that point being Crown Lands monument No. M-170312;

Then in a northeasterly direction to a point on the highwater mark of the easternmost extremity of Old Sow Point;

Then running along the sinuosities of the shoreline at the highwater mark passing Island Cove, Bears Cove, Caplin Cove, Courage's Beach, Kings Point, Shoal Point to Feather Point, the point of beginning.

All bearings herein refer to grid north, central meridian 53° west longitude, and as with the distances and/or co-ordinates given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500, 1984, 1:50,000, 1984 and 1:12,000, 1971 Crown Lands and Surveys Division Mapping and reference to the department's coloured aerial photographs.
