Langdon's Cove - Silverdale

Municipalities Act

Under the authority of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

ORDER

Analysis



District continued

        1. The area comprising the communities of Jackson 's Cove, Langdon's Cove and Silverdale is continued as a local service district by the name of the Local Service District of Jackson's Cove - Langdon's Cove - Silverdale .

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries for the local service district are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 175/82, 105/83, 179/83, 40/89 and 57/90 are repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at a point, that point being at the highwater mark on the southern shoreline of Green Bay and known as Nickey's Nose Point;

Then in a generally easterly direction along the sinuosities of the southern shoreline of Green Bay a distance of 750 metres, more or less, to the highwater mark, that point being south 54° east a distance of 430 metres, more or less, from the last given point;

Then south 7° west a distance of 550 metres, more or less, to the summit of an unnamed hill;

Then south 66° east a distance of 210 metres, more or less, to the summit of an unnamed hill;

Then south 14° west a distance of 615 metres, more or less, to the summit of Rushy Pond Head Hill;

Then south 44° east a distance of 200 metres, more or less, to a point on the northern shoreline of Western Arm at the highwater mark;

Then in a generally southwesterly direction along the northern shoreline of Western Arm passing Windsor Cove, Bear Cove Point, Bear Cove and Windsor Point to a point at the westernmost end of Western Arm where West Brook flows into Western Arm;

Then in a generally southwesterly direction along the northern bank of West Brook a distance of 2.1 kilometres, more or less, to a point on the eastern bank of a brook locally known as Colchester Brook;

Then in a generally northwesterly direction along the western bank of Colchester Brook a distance of 850 metres to a point at the southernmost end of an unnamed pond where the brook flows out of the pond;

Then north 29° west a distance of 1.5 kilometres, more or less, to a point on the highwater mark on the southern shoreline of Southwest Arm;

Then in a generally northeasterly direction along the shoreline of Southwest Arm passing Birchy Cove Head, Birchy Cove, Shilly Cove, Jackson 's Cove, Langdon's Point and Western Point to the point of commencement.

All bearings refer to grid north. All bearings as with distance given are subject to approximation.
