Under the authority of section 257 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Miles Cove Order .

Schedule

Beginning at a point situate 558 metres southwestward via the highway from the summit of the highest hill in the trans island section of Route 381, and being .5 kilometres westward from the western end of a pond locally known as Long Pond, that point having co-ordinates north 5 488 545 metres and east 318 790 metres of the modified 3° transverse mercator projection, central meridian 56° west longitude, which point is more particularly situate 375 metres via the highway from a projected centre line turning point of the intersection in the Port Anson/Miles Cove Highway;

Then running south 3° west 270 metres to a turning point in a power transmission line and south 21° west 480 metres to a point on the coastline, that point having co-ordinates north 5 487 825 metres and east 318 605 metres;

Then running generally eastward and northwestward along the coastal sinuosities of Sunday Cove Island via Miles Cove to the eastern tip of Burnt Point;

Then running north 84° 15' west 1,800 metres by the way of the crest of Burnt Point to a point on the old woods trail to Wellman's Cove, that point having co-ordinates north 5 489 715 metres and east 319 755 metres, which point is more particularly situate at the crossing of a small intermittent stream to a pond locally known as Muddy Pond, a feeder pond to a pond locally known as Miles Pond;

Then running north 74° 15' west 955 metres to a hilltop position situate north 6° west 380 metres from the northwestern end of a pond locally known as Paddick Pond, and being at a point having co-ordinates north 5 489 975 metres and east 318 835 metres;

Then running south 85° west 1,200 metres to a point at the summit of a hill, that point having co-ordinates north 5 489 870 metres and east 317 640 metres;

Then running south 55° 30' east 1,140 metres to a hilltop position situate south 38° west 475 metres from the northwestern end of Paddick Pond, and being at a point having co-ordinates north 5 489 220 metres and east 318 580 metres, and south 25° east 525 metres to a point at the summit of a hill, that point having co-ordinates north 5 488 745 metres and east 318 800 metres, and south 3° west 200 metres to the highway point of commencement.

All bearings being referred to grid north of the projection and along with distances and co-ordinates given are subject to approximation as taken from the 1:12,500 Provincial Orthphoto Mapping, 1975 edition, with reference to the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping, 1971 edition, and provincial highways data, 1974 route plan.
