Town of Twillingate Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-220)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Twillingate Order .

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulation 229/94 is repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at the southernmost highwater point in Connert Head Cove and following the coastline of North Twillingate Island and South Twillingate Island around Twillingate Harbour , and then along the northern coastline of South Twillingate Island by way of Farmers Arm, Durrell Arm, Spillers Cove, Codjack Cove and Gunning Head to the coastal tip of Burns Point;

Then west a distance of 750 metres, more or less, to the northeastern extremity of an unnamed pond lying due east of Wild Pond;

Then south 1,250 metres, more or less, to the intersection of the north entrance to Little Harbour with Route 340;

Then south 15° 00' east 3,100 metres, more or less, to a point on a transmission line where the centre line crosses the western right-of-way of Bayview Road;

Then south 73° 15' west 1,825 metres, more or less, to the mid-point indentation in the coastal tip of Moses Point;

Then following the highwater coastline of South Twillingate Island by way of Manuels Cove, Gillott Cove and Bluff Head Cove to the southern limit of Rodney Cove;

Then south 85° 00' east 350 metres, more or less, to Crown Lands monument No. 76G2371, spot elevation 53.0 metres;

Then north 17° 15' east 975 metres, more or less, to Crown Lands monument No. 76G2372, spot elevation 50.9 metres (crossing Route 340-60, 200 metres via the centre line from the Rink Road intersection);

Then north 53° 30' west 250 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 53.5 metres;

Then north 67° 00' west 480 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 32.8 metres;

Then due west to the highway coastline of South Twillingate Island and following the coastline by way of Robbins Cove to, and then across, Shoal Tickle to North Twillingate Island;

Then following the highwater coastline of North Twillingate Island by way of Tickle Point, Dumpling Cove, Back Harbour and Davy Button Cove to a point 300 metres northeastward from the summit Bread and Butter Point;

Then running northeastward 2 kilometres, more or less, to Connert Head Cove at the point of beginning.

All bearings herein refer to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:5000 Department of Natural Resources Mapping Division maps and the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping.
