CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 920/96

Rocky Harbour Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96-173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Rocky Harbour Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Part I

Beginning at a coastal point on the northern side of Rocky Harbour, that point bearing south 16° 25' 42" west from Iron Post No. 208?1, Gros Morne National Park, Regional Surveyor Plan No. 82-14;

Then along a line of demarcation with the national park north 16° 25' 42" east to Iron Post No. 208?1, north 16° 25' 42" east 645.735 metres to Iron Post No. 207-1, south 73° 37' 44" east 778.944 metres to Iron Post No. 206?1, south 36° 52' 34" east 2,814.964 metres to Iron Post No. 102?1, south 36° 52' 02" east 201.769 metres to Iron Post No. 101?1, south 36° 52' 48" east 415.915 metres to Iron Post No. 4?1, south 36° 52' 35" east 748.810 metres to Post No. 2051 at co?ordinates 5 492 763.486 metres north and 348 863.717 metres east, south 36° 52' 35" east to Rocky Harbour Pond and eastward and southward along the eastern highwater shoreline of Rocky Harbour Pond to Iron Post No. 2055, south 84° 51' 34" east to a point 100 metres perpendicularly westward from the centre line of a link highway off Viking Trail;

Then along a line of demarcation with the Norris Point planning area running southwestwardly along a line parallel to and 100 metres from the centre line of the link highway to the western side of the Rocky Harbour/Norris Point realigned highway at 150 metres from the centre line, and southeastward along a western line parallel to and 150 metres from the centre line of the Rocky Harbour/Norris Point realigned highway to a line perpendicular to the highway, and southwestward along the line to the coastal tip of Wigwam Point;

Then following the coastline of Bonne Bay generally northwestward via Green Point and Salmon Point to and then along the shoreline of Rocky Harbour to the point of beginning.

Part II

All that part separated from Part I by the Viking Trail and excluded from the Gros Morne National Park in the Regional Surveyor Plan No. 82-14;

Beginning at a point on the eastern sideline of the Viking Trail at 45.72 metres from the centre line, that point bearing north 16° 25' 42" east in alignment with Post 207?1 and Post 208?1;

Then north 40° 00' east 1,850 metres;

Then south 66° 00' east 1,625 metres;

Then north 31° 00' east 350 metres;

Then north 7° 00' west 2,625 metres;

Then north 84° 00' east 2,050 metres;

Then south 14° 30' west 1,425 metres or more to and then eastward along the southern bank of a small brook at the highwater mark to Deer Pond;

Then southward along the western highwater shoreline of Deer Pond to and then southward along the western bank of Deer Brook at the highwater mark to the eastern sideline of Viking Trail;

Then northwestward along the eastern sideline of Viking Trail at 45.72 metres from the centre line a distance of 7,400 metres, more or less;

Then north 34° 00' east 200 metres;

Then north 56° 00' west 550 metres;

Then south 34° 00' west 150 metres, more or less, to the eastern sideline of Viking Trail;

Then northwestward along the eastern sideline of Viking Trail at 45.72 metres from the centre line 550 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning.

All bearings and co-ordinates in Part I and Part II refer to the 3° modified T.M. grid, central meridian 58° 30' west longitude.
