Town of Bay Roberts Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Bay Roberts Order .

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 682/78, 115/87 and 237/90 are repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at a point on the highwater mark on the southern shoreline of Coley's Point, that point being due east of the northern extremity of Long Beach Pond and having co-ordinates north 5 270 953 metres and east 284 737 metres;

Then due west a distance of 35 metres, more or less, to the northern extremity of the pond;

Then in a westerly direction along the northern shoreline of the pond to a point at the mouth of an unnamed river which flows out of Beaver Pond;

Then in a westerly direction along the northern bank of the river to Beaver Pond;

Then in a westerly direction along the eastern shoreline of the pond to the western bank of a small brook which empties into Beaver Pond from Rocky Pond;

Then in a westerly direction along the western bank and shoreline of the brook and Rocky Pond to a point on the southern bank of an unnamed brook flowing into Rocky Pond, that point being 320 metres, more or less, east of the centre line of the Conception Bay North Highway;

Then in a southerly direction along a line parallel to and 320 metres from the centre line of the highway a distance of 650 metres, more or less, to a point, that point having co-ordinates north 5 268 783 metres and east 283 193 metres;

Then due west a distance of 330 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being on the western right-of-way of the Conception Bay North Highway and 50 metres north of the centre line of an unnamed road;

Then in a westerly direction along a line parallel to and 50 metres north of the centre line of the road and proceeding westwardly to a high point, spot elevation 89.9 metres at co-ordinates north 5 268 770 metres and east 282 210 metres;

Then north 70° 00' west a distance of 565 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 77.9 metres;

Then south 42° 00' west a distance of 1,845 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 148.9 metres;

Then north 41° 00' west a distance of 1,545 metres, more or less, to the centre of a bridge on Country Road spanning a tributary of Shearstown Brook;

Then north 16° 30' west a distance of 1,455 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 161.1 metres;

Then north 9° 00' east a distance of 710 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 157.0 metres;

Then north 27° 30' east a distance of 1,180 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 182.5 metres;

Then north 50° 15' east a distance of 1,240 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the intersection of the centre line of an unnamed road and a power transmission line;

Then north 89° 00' east a distance of 772 metres, more or less, to a point on the westernmost extremity of Goose Pond, that point having co?ordinates north 5 272 680 metres and east 281 416 metres;

Then due east to a point on the northern shoreline of Shearstown Brook, that point having co-ordinates north 5 272 680 metres and east 282 490 metres and being some 70 metres, more or less, northeast of an unnamed brook flowing into Shearstown Brook;

Then in an easterly direction along the northern shoreline of the brook to the bridge on Route 70 at Arnies Pond;

Then in a northeasterly direction along the northern shoreline of the pond to its sandy outlet;

Then following the coastal sinuosities of Conception Bay along the southeastern shoreline of Spaniard's Bay, the northern shoreline of Bay Roberts and the northern and southern shoreline of Coley's Point to the point of beginning.

All bearings herein refer to grid north, central meridian 53° west longitude, and as with distances and/or co-ordinates given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500, 1:5000 Crown Lands and Surveys Division Mapping and the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping.
