Town of Southern Harbour Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Southern Harbour Order .

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Southern Harbour are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulation 816/78 is repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at a point, that point being where an unnamed brook flows into Little Southern Harbour, grid reference 784883;

Then in a generally easterly direction along the northern bank of the brook to a point, that point being located on the centre line of the Cabot Highway (now abandoned) where the brook flows under the Cabot Highway (now abandoned);

Then following the centre line of the Cabot Highway (now abandoned) in a generally northerly direction a distance of 900 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being located on the Cabot Highway 400 metres southwest of the Trans Canada Highway;

Then in a generally northerly direction running parallel to and 400 metres from the centre line of the Trans Canada Highway to a point, that point being the centre line of the Southern Harbour Road 400 metres due west of the Trans Canada Highway;

Then due west a distance of 2,000 metres, more or less, to a point at highwater mark on the eastern shoreline of Placentia Bay;

Then following the sinuosities of the shoreline in a generally southerly direction to the most southern tip of Butler Head;

Then following the sinuosities of the shoreline in a generally northerly, southeasterly direction around Little Southern Harbour to the point of commencement.

All bearings refer to grid north.
