EXPLANATORY NOTE This Bill would amend the Assessment Act to permit municipalities to waive collection of the assessment appeal fee.
A BILL AN ACT TO AMEND THE ASSESSMENT ACT Analysis 1. S.26 Amdt. Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: RSN1990 cA-18 1. Section 26 of the Assessment Act is amended by adding immediately after subsection (5) the following: (6) Notwithstanding subsection (2), a council may, in its discretion, waive the payment of a fee required by the director under that subsection.
