(1)     acknowledges the tremendous importance to Newfoundland and Labrador of the terms of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement-in-principle (CETA) between Canada and the European Union for which the Provincial Government successfully advocated; and

 

(2)     supports the decision of the Federal and Provincial Governments to establish a $400 million fund to improve our fishing industry’s global competitiveness to capitalize more fully on the phenomenal opportunities that CETA will generate for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.”

         17. − MR.CHRISTOPHER MITCHELMORE (The Straits – White Bay North) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Natural Resources to lay on the Table of the House the following information:

 

(a)  all correspondence sent to the Federal Minister of Natural Resources regarding the Federal Government's commitment to the Federal Loan Guarantee to assist with financing the Muskrat Falls project since November 6, 2010;


(b)  a list of all meetings, reports, presentations, research material forwarded to the Federal Minister of Natural Resources regarding the Federal Loan Guarantee commitment to the development of the Muskrat Falls project, since November 6, 2010.

 

18. − MR.CHRISTOPHER MITCHELMORE (The Straits – White Bay North) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture and/or the Honourable the Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

 

(a) all correspondence sent to the Federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans regarding Newfoundland and Labrador’s position pertaining to the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) from the Minister or any member of the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture and/or Department of Innovation, Business & Rural Development or any person acting on his/her behalf;


(b) dates of meetings and reports, presentations, research material, forwarded to the Federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, or any member of the Minister's office or any person acting on his/her behalf regarding Newfoundland and Labrador’s position on Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA).

 

19. − MR.DALE KIRBY (St. John’s North) - To ask the Honourable the Minister of Natural Resources to lay upon the Table of the House the following information:

 

(a) any correspondence relating to the future of the Come By Chance oil refinery;

(b) any proposals made by the Province, or to the Province, relating to the future of the Come By Chance refinery;

 

(c) the results of any assessment(s) of the financial impact of the closure of the Come By Chance refinery;

(d) any plans related to assisting refinery workers and isthmus region of the Avalon Peninsula in the event that the Come By Chance refinery closes; and

(e) a detailed breakdown of the total cost of developing and implementing any such plans.
