Tours of the House of Assembly

Experience the focal point of democracy in our province! From our beginnings first as a Colony of Great Britain, then a Dominion, and since 1949 a province of Canada, the Legislature has a rich history with many stories to tell. Free tours run for approximately 45 minutes and include time inside the House of Assembly Chamber.

Tours depart from the main lobby of Confederation Building, East block located on Prince Phillip Drive, St. Johnís, Newfoundland & Labrador.

June 1 to August 31

During these months, tours operate on a schedule Monday to Friday (excluding provincial government holidays), at the following times:

September 1 to October 15

During these months, tours operate on a schedule Monday to Friday (excluding provincial government holidays), at the following times:

October 16 Ė May 31

During these months, all tours must be scheduled in advance by the contacting the House of Assembly (see contact information below). Please note when the House is in Session, tours are not available on Wednesday, and are offered during the morning only on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
