EXPLANATORY NOTES

This Bill would amend the Historic Resources Act to

·         remove the requirement that the accounts and financial transactions of the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador comply with the Financial Administration Act; and

·         add a requirement that the financial statement of the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador be audited by the auditor general.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

        1. Section 27 of the Historic Resources Act is repealed and the following substituted:

Audit

      27. (1) The auditor general shall annually audit the financial statement of the foundation.

             (2)  The financial year of the foundation shall be from April 1 in one year to March 31 in the next year.
