EXPLANATORY NOTES

This Bill would amend the Highway Traffic Act to increase the amount of the fines for certain offences.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

1. (1) The Schedule to the Highway Traffic Act is amended by deleting the rows starting with paragraphs 110(3)(b), 110(3)(c), 110(3)(d) and 110(3)(e) and substituting the following:

110(3)(b)	Exceeding the speed limit by between 11 and 20 kilometres an hour Second offence Subsequent offence	250 400 550	200 300 400	5 days 10 days 12 days	2 days 4 days 6 days
