Under the authority of the Fish Inspection Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following regulation.

1. The Fish Inspection Regulations, 1969 are amended by adding immediately after section 27 the following:

Caplin processing quota

27.1 (1) A person who holds a licence issued by the minister authorizing him or her to process caplin is only entitled to process caplin to the extent of the processing quota assigned to the person and the caplin may only be processed according to the terms and conditions with respect to caplin processing contained in the directives of the minister issued on June 6, 12, 17 and 21, 1996 and contained in the production quota document on file in the office of the minister.

(2) A processing quota assigned to a person, and the terms and conditions applicable to the processing of caplin by that person contained in the directives of the minister issued on June 6, 12, 17 and 21, 1996 and contained in the production quota document on file in the office of the minister constitute terms and conditions of the caplin processing licence of that person.
