Short title

1. This Order may be cited as the Special Elections and Special By-Elections Order.

Special elections

2. It is ordered that special elections be held as follows:

(a) for a 5 member council in the Town of Baine Harbour on October 28, 1997, and that Helen Reid be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(b) for a 5 member council in the Town of Bellburns on October 28, 1997, and that Miriam House be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(c) for a 7 member council in the Town of Cartwright on October 28, 1997, and that Charlotte Dyson be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(d) for a 5 member council in the Town of Coachman's Cove on October 28, 1997, and that Marina Bryan be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(e) for a 5 member council in the Town of Englee on October 28, 1997, and that Doris Randell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(f) for a 5 member council in the Town of Gallants on October 28, 1997, and that Beverly Hickey be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(g) for a 7 member council in the Town of Gaultois on October 28, 1997, and that Sylvia Rose be appointed as returning Officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(h) for a 5 member council in the Town of Gillams on October 28, 1997, and that Lois Blanchard be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(i) for a 5 member council in the Town of Goose Cove East on October 28, 1997, in that Gertrude Troy be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(j) for a 7 member council in the Town of Lamaline on October 28, 1997, and that Shelley Lovell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(k) for a 5 member council in the Town of Lushes Bight-Beaumont-Beaumont North, on October 28, 1997, and that Madeline Burton be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(l) for a 5 member council in the Town of Morrisville on October 28, 1997, and that Derrick McDonald be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(m) for a 7 member council in the Town of Pinware on October 28, 1997, and that Mary Ellen Butt be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(n) for a 5 member council in the Town of Port Kerwin on October 28, 1997, and that Lucy Bosch be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(o) for a 7 member Council in the Town of Rencontre East on October 28, 1997, and that Barbara Caines be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(p) for a 5 member council in the Town of St. Brendan's on October 28, 1997, and that Rita White be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(q) for a 7 member council in the Town of Salvage on October 28, 1997, and that Cynthia Burden be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

(r) for a 5 member council in the Town of Seal Cove, F. Bay, on November 1, 1997, and that Emily Loveless be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election; and

(s) for a 5 member council in the Town of Tilting on October 28, 1997, and that Mary O'Keefe be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election.

Special by-elections

3. It is ordered that special by-elections be held

(a) to elect 5 members to the Town Council in the Town of Birchy Bay on October 28, 1997, and that Ruby Pollard be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(b) to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Brent's Cove on November 1, 1997, and that Ellen Butler be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(c) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Campbellton on October 28, 1997, and that Bev Hill be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(d) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Charlottetown on October 28, 1997, and that Melita Paul be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(e) to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Comfort Cove-Newstead on October 28, 1997, and that Mary Lou Ginn be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(f) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Conche on October 28, 1997, and that Laboura Whelan be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(g) to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Cormack on October 28, 1997, and that Cynthia Fry be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(h) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Cottlesville on October 28, 1997, and that Shelly Philpott be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(i) to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Cox's Cove on October 28, 1997, and that Sandra Tucker be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(j) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Flatrock on October 28, 1997, and that Rita Farrell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(k) to elect 5 members to the Town Council in the Town of Fleur De Lys on October 28, 1997, and that Judy Traverse be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(l) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Glenwood on October 28, 1997, and that Cynthia Davis be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(m) to elect 6 members to the Town Council in the Town of Hant's Harbour on October 28, 1997, and that Doris Short be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(n) to elect 5 members to the Town Council in the Town of Hawke's Bay on October 28, 1997, and that Yvonne House be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(o) to elect 6 members to the Town Council in the Town of Hopedale on October 28, 1997, and that Judy Dicker be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(p) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Little Bay on October 28, 1997, and that Stella Simms be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(q) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Little Bay East on October 28, 1997, and that Gail Clarke be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(r) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Little Catalina on October 28, 1997, and that Marilyn Reid be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(s) to elect 4 members to Town Council in the Town of Main Brook on October 28, 1997, and that Ella Pilgrim be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(t) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of New Perlican on October 28, 1997, and that Denyce Peddle be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(u) to elect 5 members to the Town Council in the Town of North West River on October 28, 1997, and that Melinda Baikie be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(v) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Point of Bay on October 28, 1997, and that Sybil Boone be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(w) to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Point Lance on October 28, 1997, and that Bernadette Careen be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(x) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Port Anson on October 28, 1997, and that Cynthia Morey be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(y) to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Port au Bras on October 28, 1997, and that Beatrice Abbott be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(z) to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Red Harbour on October 28, 1997, and that Walter Kenway be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(aa) to elect 6 members to the Town Council in the Town of St. Alban's on October 28, 1997, and that Genevieve Tremblett be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(bb) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of St. Jacques-Coomb's Cove on October 28, 1997, and that Francis Courtney be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(cc) to elect 5 members to the Town Council in the Town of St. Lunaire-Griquet on October 28, 1997, and that Glenda Burden be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(dd) to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of St. Paul's on October 28, 1997, and that Verna Legge be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(ee) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Seldom-Little Seldom on October 28, 1997, and that Blanche Bennett be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

(ff) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of South Brook on October 28, 1997, and that Hope Rowsell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election; and

(gg) to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Westport on October 28, 1997, and that Peggy Randell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election.
