Regional Health and Community Services Board Order
under the
Health and Community Services Act

Under the authority of subsection 4(4) of the Health and Community Services Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Regional Health and Community Services Board Order.

Authorization to deliver services

        2. A regional health and community services board constituted under subsection 4(3) of the Health and Community Services Act is authorized to administer and deliver the programs and services designated by the Minister of Health and Community Services under the

             (a)  Child Welfare Act;

             (b)  Adoption of Children Act;

             (c)  Day Care and Homemaker Services Act;

             (d)  Neglected Adults Act;

             (e)  Rehabilitation Act;

              (f)  Young Persons Offences Act; and

             (g)  Young Offenders Act (Canada).

Social workers

        3. Where the Minister of Health and Community Services designates a program under an Act referred to in section 2, the powers and duties assigned to a social worker under that Act are conferred on a registered social worker employed by a regional health and community services board.
