Open Season Big Game Caribou Hunting Order,
Labrador, 1997-98 (Amendment)
under the
Wild Life Regulations
and the
Wild Life Act

Under the authority of sections 38, 92 and 114 of the Wild Life Regulations and the Wild Life Act, I make the following Order.

        1. Subsection 4(1) of the Open Season Big Game Caribou Hunting Order, Labrador, 1997-98 is repealed and the following substituted:

        4. (1) There shall be an open season in the following zones:

George River Zone	August 10, 1997 - April 30, 1998
Torngat Mountain Zone	August 10, 1997 - April 30, 1998
Michikamau West Zone	October 9, 1997 - April 30, 1998
Milner Lake Zone	November 18, 1997 - April 30, 1998
McPhayden River Zone	October 9, 1997 - April 30, 1998
Bay of Islands Zone	November 7, 1997 - April 30, 1998
Orma North Zone	October 8 - October 26, 1997 January 2, 1998 - April 30, 1998
Orma South Zone	January 13, 1998 - April 30, 1998
Grand Lake Zone	January 9, 1998 - April 30, 1998
Colvile Lake Zone (portion between the Gabbrow water control and the Esker railway siding, within one kilometre south of the Esker/Churchill Falls access road)	October 9, 1997 - April 30, 1998
(portion of the area found one kilometre south of the portion of the Trans-Labrador Highway that demareates the southern boundary of this zone, i.e., from the intersection of the Quebec north shore and Labrador Railroad to the west shore of Ossokmanuan Lake)	November 18, 1997 - April 30, 1998

        2. There shall be a closed season in the following zones:

             (a)  Michikamau East Zone;

             (b)  Twin Falls Zone;

             (c)  Lac Virot Zone;

             (d)  Sawbill Lake Zone;

             (e)  Big River Zone;

              (f)  Nipishnish Lake Zone; and

             (g)  Seal Lake Zone.
