Prospective Jurors Alternate Sources Regulations

Jury Act, 1991

Under the authority of section 44 of the Jury Act, 1991, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations.

Short title

        1. These regulations may be cited as the Prospective Jurors Alternate Sources Regulations.

Alternative sources

        2. For the purpose of the enumeration of prospective jurors' lists compiled under section 11 of the Jury Act, 1991, the sheriff may use one or more of the following alternative sources;

             (a)  motor registration division – licensed drivers, management information system database;

             (b)  a membership list of an association francophone;

             (c)  the telephone directory; or

             (d)  another source considered appropriate for the purpose by the sheriff.
