VI 20. Practice protocol NR 65/98 1. Section 1 of the Nurse Practitioner Primary Health Care Regulations is repealed and the following substituted: Short title 1. These
regulations may be cited as the Nurse
Practitioner Regulations. 2. (1) Section 2 of the regulations is amended by adding immediately after paragraph (e) the following: (e.1) "nurse practitioner - primary health care" means a registered nurse who meets the requirements for licensure by the association for practice as a nurse practitioner in accordance with Parts I to V; (e.2) "nurse practitioner - specialist" means a registered nurse who meets the requirements for licensure by the association for practice as a nurse practitioner - specialist; (2) Section 2 of the regulations is amended by striking out the semi-colon and the word "and" at the end of paragraph (g) and substituting a period. (3) Paragraph 2(h) of the regulations is repealed. 3. The regulations are amended by adding immediately after section 2 the following: Application of Parts 2.1 (1) Parts I to V of these regulations apply only to a nurse practitioner - primary health care. (2) Part VI of these regulations apply only to a nurse practitioner - specialist. 4. The regulations are amended by adding immediately after section 19 the following: PART VI Practice protocol 20. (1) A person licensed as a nurse practitioner - specialist by the council shall practice only as provided for in a practice protocol issued to him or her.
