Newfoundland Regulation 2000 Motor Carrier Regulations (Amendment) (Filed Under the authority of section 28 of the Motor Carrier Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations. Dated at Gary Norris REGULATIONS Analysis 1.

S.28.1 Added CNR 965/96 1. Paragraph 28(e) of the Motor Carrier Regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (e) the rates, tolls, fares or charges to be levied by the motor carrier for a public passenger service or for another service, except an ambulance service; and 2. The regulations are amended by adding immediately after section 28 the following: Ambulance service rates 28.1 (1) A motor carrier operating an ambulance service shall charge the rates established by the Minister of Health and Community Services. (2) The board shall fix as a term of the certificate of a motor carrier operating an ambulance service, whether the certificate is issued before or after the coming into force of these regulations, (a) the rates established by the Minister of Health and Community Services; and (b) a requirement that a motor carrier shall not provide service without charging a person requiring medical attention or under medical care the rate established by the Minister of Health and Community Services. (3) Nothing in this section precludes the Minister of Health and Community Services from establishing a mileage subsidy, an attendant fee and an operating grant to be paid to a holder of a certificate to operate an ambulance service. ©Earl G.
