Notice of Protected Water Supply Area of Buchans Lake
under the
Water Resources Act

Under the authority of section 39 of the Water Resources Act, I designate the area generally known as the Buchans Lake Water Supply Area for the Town of Buchans as a protected water supply area.

NOTICE

This area includes all lands in the Provincial Electoral District of Grand Falls-Buchans abutted and bounded as follows:

Beginning at a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 505,867 metres and northing 5,416,576 metres;

Then running in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 4,247 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 509,726 metres and northing 5,418,350 metres;

Then running in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 3,150 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 512,528 metres and northing 5,416,910 metres;

Then running in a southerly direction for a distance of 7,985 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 511,818 metres and northing 5,408,957 metres;

Then running in a westerly direction for a distance of 6,564 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 505, 413 metres and northing 5,407,523 metres;

Then running in a southwesterly direction for a distance of 4,587 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 501,981 metres and northing 5,404,480 metres;

Then running in a westerly direction for a distance of 3,189 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 498,799 metres and northing 5,404 694 metres;

Then running in a northwesterly direction for a distance of 2,219 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 497, 905 metres and northing 5,406,725 metres;

Then running in a westerly direction for a distance of 2973 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 494 935 metres and northing 5 406 854 metres;

Then running in a westerly direction for a distance of 3,794 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 491,160 metres and northing 5,406,476 metres;

Then running in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 3,348 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 493,915 metres and northing 5,408,378 metres;

Then running in a northerly direction for a distance of 1,580 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 493,701 metres and northing 5,409,943 metres;

Then running in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 1,990 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 495,269 metres and northing 5,411,169 metres;

Then running in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 1,070 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 496,160 metres and northing 5,410,576 metres;

Then running in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 6,442 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 501,926 metres and northing 5,413,449 metres;

Then running in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 1,638 metres, more or less, to a point having scaled UTM co-ordinates of easting 503,243 metres and northing 5,412,475 metres;

Then running in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 4,869 metres, more or less, to the point of commencement.

All co-ordinates refer to Zone 21 of the NAD 83 Universal Transverse Mercator Projection.

The Notice of Protected Water Supply Area of Buchans Lake (Sandy Lake) Consolidated Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 537/96, is repealed.
