S.14 Amdt. CNLR 802/96 1. Section 14 of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Regulations is amended by adding immediately after subsection (1) the following: (1.1) Notwithstanding subsection (1), where an accused police officer who is to be tried by a disciplinary panel is not a member of the bargaining unit, the panel shall consist of 2 persons, who may or may not be police officers, one appointed by the chief of police, or his or her delegate, one appointed by the accused police officer, and a third person, who may or may not be a police officer, appointed by the other 2 appointees, who shall be the chairperson of the panel. (1.2) Where a person appointed under subsection (1.1) is a police officer, the officer appointed shall not be subordinate to the accused police officer. ©Earl G. Tucker, Queen's Printer |
