Under the authority of sections 4 and 21 of the Hospitals Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Regional Integrated Health Authorities Order.

Eastern Regional Integrated Health Authority constituted

        2. (1) An authority, known as the Eastern Regional Integrated Health Authority, is constituted to manage and control the operation of the facilities included in Schedule A and all other facilities, services and programs operated or provided by them or associated with them.

             (2)  The Eastern Regional Integrated Health Authority is assigned the supervision, direction and control of the delivery of health and community services in the areas of

             (a)  health and community prevention and promotion;

             (b)  road ambulance services;

             (c)  health and community protection;

             (d)  continuing care;

             (e)  mental health;

              (r)  addiction services;

             (g)  child, youth and family services; and

             (h)  services to adult individuals.

Central Regional Integrated Health Authority constituted

        3. (1) An authority, known as the Central Regional Integrated Health Authority, is constituted to manage and control the operation of the facilities included in Schedule B and all other facilities, services and programs operated or provided by them or associated with them.

             (2)  The Central Regional Integrated Health Authority is assigned the supervision, direction and control of the delivery of health and community services in the areas of

             (a)  health and community prevention and promotion;

             (b)  road ambulance services;

             (c)  health and community protection;

             (d)  continuing care;

             (e)  mental health;

              (f)  addiction services;

             (g)  child, youth and family services; and

             (h)  services to adult individuals.

Western Regional Integrated Health Authority constituted

        4. (1) An authority, known as the Western Regional Integrated Health Authority, is constituted to manage and control the operation of the facilities included in Schedule C and all other facilities, services and programs operated or provided by them or associated with them.

             (2)  The Western Regional Integrated Health Authority is assigned the supervision, direction and control of the delivery of health and community services in the areas of

             (a)  health and community prevention and promotion;

             (b)  road ambulance services;

             (c)  health and community protection;

             (d)  continuing care;

             (e)  mental health;

              (f)  addiction services;

             (g)  child, youth and family services; and

             (h)  services to adult individuals.

Labrador-Grenfell Regional Integrated Health Authority constituted

        5. (1) An authority, known as the Labrador-Grenfell Regional Integrated Health Authority, is constituted to manage and control the operation of the facilities included in Schedule D and all other facilities, services and programs operated or provided by them or associated with them.

             (2)  The Labrador-Grenfell Regional Integrated Health Authority is assigned the supervision, direction and control of the delivery of health and community services in the areas of

             (a)  health and community prevention and promotion;

             (b)  road ambulance services;

             (c)  health and community protection;

             (d)  continuing care;

             (e)  mental health;

              (f)  addiction services;

             (g)  child, youth and family services; and

             (h)  services to adult individuals.

Authority assuming other obligations

        6. An authority constituted by this order is considered to have assumed and to be vested with the assets, liabilities, rights and obligations, whether contractual, statutory or otherwise, of all services, groups or boards replaced by the authority.

Repeal

        7. The following Orders are repealed:

             (a)  Health Care Institutions Boards Continuation Order, Consolidated Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 1004/96;

             (b)  Health Care Institutions Community Services Order, Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 49/98;

             (c)  Central Regional Health and Community Services Board Order, Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 47/98;

             (d)  Eastern Regional Health and Community Services Board Order, Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 45/98;

             (e)  Regional Health and Community Services Board Order, Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 44/98;

              (f)  St. John's Regional Health and Community Services Board Order, Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 48/98;

             (g)  Western Regional Health and Community Services Board Order, Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 46/98; and

             (h)  St. John's Nursing Home Board Constitution Order, Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 7/97.

Commencement

        8. This Order comes into force on April 1, 2005.
