Special Elections and Special By-Elections Order, 2005
under the
Municipal Elections Act

Under the authority of section 7 of the Municipal Elections Act, I make the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Special Elections and Special By-Elections Order, 2005.

Special elections

        2. It is ordered that special elections be held as follows:

             (a)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Brent's Cove on October 25, 2005, and that Ellen Butler be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (b)  for a 7 member council in the Town of Change Islands, on October 25, 2005, and that Sherry Diamond be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (c)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Coachman's Cove on October 25, 2005, and that Joanne Breen be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (d)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Cook's Harbour on October 25, 2005, and that Regina Short be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (e)  for a 7 member council in the Town of Cottlesville, on October 25, 2005, and that Shelly Abbott be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

              (f)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Duntara on October 25, 2005, and that Dorothy Power be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (g)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Fermeuse on October 25, 2005, and that Mary Kenny be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (h)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Goose Cove East on October 25, 2005, and that Patrician Reardon be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

              (i)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Little Bay on October 25, 2005, and that Jamie Winsor be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

              (j)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Lord's Cove on October 25, 2005, and that Susan Fitzpatrick be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (k)  for a 7 member council in the Town of Pinware on October 25, 2005, and that Mary Ellen Butt be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

              (l)  for a 7 member council in the Town of Point of Bay on October 25, 2005, and that Sybil Boone be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

            (m)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Port Kirwan on October 25, 2005, and that Dana Boland be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (n)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Salvage on October 25, 2005, and that Kim Babstock be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (o)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Seal Cove, Fortune Bay on October 25, 2005, and that Emily Loveless be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election;

             (p)  for a 5 member council in the Town of St. Brendan's on October 25, 2005, and that Rita White be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election; and

             (q)  for a 5 member council in the Town of Woodstock on October 25, 2005, and that Charlene Mitchell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that election.

Special by-elections

        3. It is ordered that special by-elections be held as follows:

             (a)  to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Bide Arm on October 25, 2005, and that Phyllis Randell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

             (b)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Fox Harbour on October 25, 2005, and that Patricia Quilty be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

             (c)  to elect 6 members to the Town Council in the Town of Frenchman's Cove on October 25, 2005, and that Ruth-Ann Francis be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

             (d)  to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Gaultois on October 25, 2005, and that Sylvin Rose be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

             (e)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Glenburnie-Birchy Head-Shoal Brook on October 25, 2005, and that Pamela Crocker be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

              (f)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Hant's Harbour on October 25, 2005, and that Doris Short be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

             (g)  to elect 6 members to the Town Council in the Town of Heart's Delight-Islington on October 25, 2005, and that Emily Harnum be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

             (h)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Hermitage-Sandyville on October 25, 2005, and that Josie Simms be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

              (i)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Indian Bay on October 25, 2005, and that Tom Easton be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

              (j)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Morrisville on October 25, 2005, and that Karl Kendell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

             (k)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Pool's Cove on October 25, 2005, and that Sharon May be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

              (l)  to elect 3 members to the Town Council in the Town of Portugal Cove South on October 25, 2005, and that Ida Perry be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election;

            (m)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of Rose Blanch-Harbour Le Cou on October 25, 2005, and that Tammy Farrell be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election; and

             (n)  to elect 4 members to the Town Council in the Town of St. Lewis on October 25, 2005, and that Loraine Poole be appointed as returning officer for the purpose of conducting that by-election.
