Workplace Hazardous Materials Information

S.23 Amdt. CNLR 1149/96 1. (1) Paragraph 6(2)(b) of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (b) in consultation with the joint health and safety committee, the health and safety representative or the workplace health and safety designate. (2) Subsection 6(4) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (4) The employer shall review at least annually, or more frequently if required by a change in work conditions or available hazard information, and in consultation with the joint health and safety committee, the worker health and safety representative or the workplace health and safety designate, the instruction and training provided to workers concerning controlled products. 2. (1) Paragraph 15(1)(b) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (b) makes readily available to the joint health and safety committee, the worker health and safety representative, and the workplace health and safety designate. (2) Subparagraph 15(2)(c)(ii) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (ii) members of the joint health and safety committee, a worker health and safety representative or a workplace health and safety designate. 3. (1) Section 23 of the regulations is amended by adding immediately after paragraph (c) the following: (c.1) the workplace health and safety designate; (2) Paragraph 23(e) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted: (e) in the absence of an occupational health and safety committee, a worker health and safety representative or a workplace health and safety designate, at the request of the representative of the workers at the site, ©Earl G.
