Sandy Cove Provisional Ecological Reserve Order
under the
Wilderness and Ecological Reserves Act

Under the authority of subsection 14(1) of the Wilderness and Ecological Reserves Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Sandy Cove Provisional Ecological Reserve Order.

Area included

        2. The Sandy Cove Provisional Ecological Reserve is established and the area included for the purpose of protecting the plant Long's braya and preserving the habitat of that plant is as set out in the Schedule.

Schedule

All those pieces or parcels of land situated and being at Sandy Cove, in the Electoral District of The Straits and White Bay North abutted and bounded as follows, that is to say:

Parcel A

Beginning at a point, that point being the most northerly corner of within described land and found by running south 80° 10' 9" west 1,16.08 metres from Control Monument 88G4088;

Then running by Crown Land south 63° 57' 39" west 191.763 metres;

And then running south 59° 52' 26" west 333.343 metres;

And then running south 23° 53' 32" east 130.0 metres;

And then running north 59° 52' 26" east 333.340 metres;

And then running north 63° 57' 39" east 137.730 metres;

Then running by land granted by the Crown to Stanley White, Volume 131 Folio 12, in the Registry of Crown Grants north 61° 21' 59" west 33.242 metres;

And then running north 50° 5' 32" east 61.840 metres;

And then running south 61° 21' 59" east 24.297 metres;

Then running by Crown Land north 23° 53' 32" west 107.864 metres to the point of beginning.

The above described piece or parcel of land containing 6.5763 hectares, more or less.

Parcel B

Beginning at a point, that point being the most westerly corner of within described land and found by running north 19° 23' 42" east 1,024.937 metres from Control Monument 88G4088;

Then running along shoreline reservation 15 metres wide on the south eastern shores of the Gulf of St Lawrence to a point being a distance of 348.017 metres as measured on a bearing of north 41° 37' 17" east.

Then running by Crown Land south 40° 30' 47" east 300.594 metres;

Then running by the north westerly limit of Old Route 430 40 metres wide south 83° 14' 40" west 48.90 metres;

And then running south 77° 43' 52" west 46.849 metres;

And then running south 64° 59' 21" west 33.358 metres;

And then running south 59° 28' 33" west 73.237 metres;

And then running south 54° 25' 53" west 99.077 metres;

And then running south 47° 49' 63" west 59.863 metres;

Then running by Crown Land north 40° 30' 47" west 175.20 metres to the point of beginning.

The above described piece or parcel of land containing 8.3887 hectares, more or less.

All bearings being referred to the meridian of the 56° west longitude of the Three Degree Transverse Mercator Projection, NAD-83.
