Vehicles Regulations, 2001 (Amendment)
under the
Highway Traffic Act

Under the authority of section 187 of the Highway Traffic Act, I make the following regulations.

1. (1) Subsection 17(9) of the Vehicles Regulations, 2001 is repealed and the following substituted:

(9) Notwithstanding another provision of these regulations, a model year 2002 or earlier semitrailer with a

(a) tandem axle group having a spread that is greater than 1.85 metres may operate in the province with an axle group weight of not more than 18,000 kilograms; and

(b) tridem axle group having a spread that is greater than 3.7 metres may operate in the province with an axle group weight of not more than 26,000 kilograms.

(2) Subsection 17(10) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted:

(10) A model year 2002 and earlier triaxle semitrailer may operate in the province with a weight applicable to an axle group spread that complies with the former regulations.

(3) Subsection 17(14) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted:

(14) Except as provided in subsections (9) and (10), weight and dimension limits that differ from those contained in Schedules A and B shall not apply after December 31, 2009.
