Open Season Big Game Caribou Hunting Order,
Labrador, 2011-2012

and the
Wild Life Act

Under the authority of sections 38, 92 and 114 of the Wild Life Regulations and the Wild Life Act, I make the following Order.

Schedule


Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Open Season Big Game Caribou Hunting Order, Labrador, 2011-2012.

Hunting prohibited

        2. The hunting of caribou is prohibited throughout Labrador except as provided for in this Order.

Caribou hunting zones

        3. The caribou hunting zones are as described in the Schedule.

Open season

        4. (1) There shall be an open season in the following zone during the dates specified:

 

George River Zone

December 20, 2011 – March 20, 2012

             (2)  Notwithstanding subsection (1), persons holding the special licence may take male caribou at any time.

             (3)  Open seasons may be declared for the various caribou hunting zones not having an open season if the George River caribou move into those zones.

Closed season

        5. There shall be a closed season in the following zones

             (a)  Double Mer Barrens Zone;

             (b)  Seal Lake Zone

             (c)  Orma North Zone

             (d)  Mulligan River Zone;

             (e)  Orma South Zone;

              (f)  Nipishish Lake Zone

             (g)  Grand Lake Zone

             (h)  Michikamau East Zone;

              (i)  Michikamau West Zone;

              (j)  Twin Falls Zone;

             (k)  Colville Lake Zone;

              (l)  Sawbill Lake Zone;

            (m)  Milner Lake Zone;

             (n)  McPhayden River Zone;

             (o)  Lac Virot Zone;

             (p)  Bay of Islands Zone; and

             (q)  Big River Zone.

Special licence

        6. (1) A resident who has resided permanently in the Torngat Mountains Electoral District for a period of not less than 6 consecutive months immediately prior to applying for a licence may be issued a caribou hunting licence free of charge.

             (2)  A licence issued under subsection (1) shall be known as a special licence.

             (3)  Special licences shall be valid only within the George River Zone or any portion of a zone which is open and lies within the Torngat Mountains Electoral District.

Regular licence

        7. (1) A resident who does not meet the residency requirements for a special licence under subsection 6(1) may be issued a caribou hunting licence.

             (2)  A licence issued under subsection (1) shall be known as a regular licence.

             (3)  The fee for a regular licence shall be $13.50.

             (4)  A resident may be issued only one regular licence in a hunting season.

Requirements for obtaining licence

        8. To obtain a regular or special caribou hunting licence, the purchaser shall

             (a)  produce 2 pieces of identification, one of which must contain his or her signature; and

             (b)  sign the licence in the vendor's presence.

Ammunition permitted

        9. Caribou may be hunted using .22 calibre centre-fire rifles which have a muzzle energy of 1,500 foot pounds or more.

Bag limits

      10. The bag limit for holders of the special licence or regular licence shall be one caribou of either sex.

Jawbones of animals taken

      11. All persons taking caribou are required to surrender the lower jawbones of all animals taken to a representative of the Wildlife Division no later than March 27, 2012.

Disposal of remains

      12. All persons taking caribou shall dispose of the remains at least 50 meters from the centerline of the Trans-Labrador Highway and in a manner that keeps the remains out of the visibility of persons travelling in vehicles on that highway.

Card to be returned

      13. Each licence holder is required to complete and return to the Wildlife Division the self-addressed caribou harvest inventory card attached to the licence providing the results of his or her hunting effort within 7 days of successfully filling the licence or no later than March 27, 2012 for unsuccessful licence holders.

Prohibition

      14. A person shall not transport or possess any firearms under the authority of a valid game licence without being in possession of an outdoor identification card, or non-resident equivalent card, issued to the person.

Sunday hunting

      15. Hunting with a firearm on Sundays shall be permitted across the entire province, beginning October 2, 2011 and ending April 30, 2012, for the species and during the seasons as described in this Order.

Repeal

      16. The Open Season Big Game Caribou Hunting Order, Labrador, 2010-2011, Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 106/10, is repealed.


Schedule

             (a)  George River Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the point where the 54° 00' 00.00" north latitude intersects the Labrador-Quebec boundary;

Then following the Labrador-Quebec boundary in a generally northerly, then northeasterly, then easterly, then northerly direction to a point where this boundary intersects 58° 27' 22.50” north latitude;

Then following a straight line in a southeasterly direction for 11884 metres to 58° 23' 01.40” north latitude and 63° 41' 49.29” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a northeasterly direction for 15123 metres to 58° 26' 18.64” north latitude and 63° 27' 38.71” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a northeasterly direction for 6931 metres to 58° 28' 18.35” north latitude and 63° 21' 40.23” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a northeasterly direction for 869 metres to the Labrador coastline at West Arm, at 58° 28' 37.89” north latitude and 63° 21' 02.57” west longitude;

Then following this coastline in a generally southeasterly direction, including all offshore islands, to the outflow of the Kanairiktok River;

Then following the north bank of the Kanairiktok River in a westerly direction to Snegamook Lake;

Then following the northern shoreline of Snegamook Lake in a westerly direction to the Kanairiktok River;

Then following the north bank of the Kanairiktok River in a westerly direction to its confluence with the Sail Lake River, tributary;

Then following the northwestern bank of the Sail Lake River in a southerly direction to the Sail Lake Dikes located at 54° 25' 27.11” north latitude and 63° 14' 19.76” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a southwesterly direction to the confluence of the north bank of the McPhayden River and Menihek Lake;

Then following the northern bank of McPhayden River to its intersection with 54° 00' 00.00" north latitude;

Then following the 54° 00' 00.00" north latitude in a westerly direction to the point of commencement.

             (b)  Michikamau East Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of 64° 00' 00.0” west longitude and the northern bank of the Churchill River, also known as the Grand River and the Hamilton River;

Then following the northern bank of the Churchill River in a westerly direction to its intersection with Bowdoin Canyon;

Then following the eastern bank of the Churchill River in a generally northerly, then northwesterly direction through Bowdoin Canyon to its intersection with Route 500;

Then following Route 500 in a generally westerly by northwesterly direction to its intersection with the Esker Access Road at 53° 38' 17.35" north latitude and 64° 35' 16.24" west longitude;

Then following the Esker Access Road in a generally westerly by northwesterly direction to the Gabbro Water Control Structure at 53° 45' 33.89” north latitude and 65° 21' 50.15” west longitude;

Then following 65° 21' 50.7" west longitude due north to the intersection with 54° 13' 19.1" north latitude;

Then following a straight line in an easterly by northeasterly direction to 54° 21' 22.9" north latitude and 64° 00' 00.0" west longitude;

Then following 64° 00' 00.0" west longitude due south to the point of commencement.

             (c)  Michikamau West Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the Gabbro Water Control Structure at 53° 45' 33.89” north latitude and 65° 21' 50.15” west longitude;

Then following the Esker Access Road in a generally westerly direction to its intersection with the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway at Esker Railway Siding;

Then following the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway in a northerly direction to 54° 06' 03.1" north latitude and 66° 28' 17.3" west longitude;

Then following a straight line in an easterly by northeasterly direction to 54° 13' 19.1" north latitude and 65° 21' 50.7" west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally southerly direction to the point of commencement.

             (d)  Twin Falls Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the Gabbro Water Control Structure at 53° 45' 33.89” north latitude and 65° 21' 50.15” west longitude;

Then following the Esker Access Road in a generally southeasterly direction to its intersection with the Trans-Labrador Highway, Route 500;

Then following Route 500 to its intersection with the northeastern bank of a unnamed river at Bowdoin Canyon;

Then following the northeastern bank of said river in a generally southeasterly, then southerly direction through Bowdoin Canyon;

Then following the northern bank of the Valley River in a southeasterly direction to its confluence with the Unknown River;

Then following the northern bank of the Unknown River in a generally westerly direction to its confluence with an unnamed tributary at 53° 31' 36.12” north latitude and 64° 29' 28.94” west longitude;

Then following the northeastern bank of this unnamed tributary in a generally northwesterly direction to its intersection with the Twin Falls Access Road;

Then following the Twin Falls Access Road in a southerly direction to the northeastern extremity of Baikie Lake at 53° 29' 55.47” north latitude and 64° 31' 05.59” west longitude;

Then following the northern shoreline of Baikie Lake in a southwesterly direction to its confluence with the Unknown River;

Then following the northeastern bank of the Unknown River in a generally southerly, then northwesterly direction to the Ossokmanuan Water Control Structure;

Then following a straight line in a westerly, by southwesterly direction to the intersection of the Trans-Labrador Highway, Route 500, with the western shoreline of the Ossokmanuan Reservoir;

Then following a straight line in a northwesterly direction to point of commencement.

             (e)  Colville Lake Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of the Trans-Labrador Highway, Route 500, and the southwestern shoreline of Ossokmanuan Reservoir;

Then following the Trans-Labrador Highway in a generally southwesterly direction to its intersection with the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway;

Then following the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway in a generally northerly direction to Esker Railway Siding;

Then following the Esker-Churchill Falls-Goose Bay Access Road in a generally easterly direction to the Gabbro Water Control Structure at 53° 45' 33.89” north latitude and 65° 21' 50.15” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a southeasterly direction to the point of commencement.

              (f)  Lac Virot Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of the Trans-Labrador Highway, Route 500, and the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway;

Then following the Trans-Labrador Highway, Route 500, in a generally westerly by southwesterly direction to the Labrador-Quebec boundary;

Then following the Labrador-Quebec boundary in a generally westerly, then northerly, then easterly, then northerly direction to 53° 27' 38.4” north latitude and 66° 54' 57.9” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally southeasterly direction to the point of commencement.

             (g)  Sawbill Lake Zone

 

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of the Trans-Labrador Highway, Route 500,  and the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway;

Then following the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway in a generally northerly by northwesterly direction to the railroad bridge crossing over the Evening Lake River near Sawbill Railroad Siding;

Then following a straight line in a southwesterly direction to 53° 27' 38.4” north latitude and 66° 54' 57.9” west longitude on the Labrador-Quebec boundary;

Then following a straight line in southeasterly direction to the point of commencement.

             (h)  Milner Lake Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway bridge crossing over the Evening Lake River;

Then following the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway in a northerly direction to its intersection with the Esker-Churchill Falls-Goose Bay Access Road at Esker Railway Siding;

Then following a straight line in a northwesterly direction across Menihek Lake to the confluence of the northern bank of the Milner Lake River and said lake;

Then following the northern bank of Milner Lake River and the northern shorelines of Clark Lake, Square Lake, Coghill Lake, and Milner Lake in a generally southwesterly direction to the closest straight line distance due south at the intersection of the Labrador-Quebec boundary and 53° 45' 21.00” north latitude;

Then following the Labrador-Quebec boundary in a generally southerly direction to 53° 27' 38.4" north latitude and 66° 54' 57.9" west longitude;

Then following a straight line in an easterly by northeasterly direction to the point of commencement.

              (i)  McPhayden River Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of 54° 00' 00.0" north latitude and the Labrador-Quebec Boundary;

Then following 54° 00' 00.0" north latitude in a generally easterly direction to its intersection with the north bank of the McPhayden River;

Then following the northern bank of the McPhayden River in a generally northeasterly, then southeasterly direction to its confluence with Menihek Lake;

Then following a straight line in a northeasterly direction across Menihek Lake to 54° 06' 03.1" north latitude and 66° 28' 17.3" west longitude;

Then following the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway in a generally southerly direction to its intersection with the Esker-Churchill Falls-Goose Bay Access Road at Esker Railway Siding;

Then following a straight line in a northwesterly direction across Menihek Lake to the confluence of the northern bank of the Milner Lake River and said lake;

Then following the northern bank of Milner Lake River and the northern shorelines of Clark Lake, Square Lake, Coghill Lake, and Milner Lake in a generally southwesterly direction to the closest straight line distance due south at the intersection of the Labrador-Quebec boundary and 53° 45' 21.00” north latitude;

Then following the Labrador-Quebec boundary in a generally northwesterly direction to the point of commencement.

              (j)  Bay of Islands Zone

 All that area of Labrador bounded by a line commencing at the eastern extremity of West Micmac Lake at 54° 44' 15.64” north latitude and 60° 07' 25.62” west longitude;

Then following the southern shoreline of West Micmac Lake and the southern bank of the Kaipokok River (Northern Branch) in a generally westerly by southwesterly direction to Warrens Lake;

Then following the southern shoreline of Warrens Lake in a generally westerly by southwesterly direction to the Kaipokok River;

Then following the southern bank of the Kaipokok River (Northern Branch) in a westerly direction to its headwaters;

Then following a straight line in a westerly by southwesterly direction to a small brook at 54° 32' 12.2" north latitude and 61° 15' 43.75" west longitude;

Then following the southern shoreline of a string of lakes in a generally northerly, then westerly, then southwesterly direction to the eastern extremity of Belly Fish Lake;

Then following a straight line in a generally northwesterly direction to the confluence of the Kanairiktok River and the northwestern extremity of Snegamook Lake;

Then following the northern shoreline of Snegamook Lake in an easterly direction to the Kanairiktok River;

Then following the northern bank of the Kanairiktok River in a generally northeasterly direction to Kanairiktok Bay;

Then following the southeastern coastline of Kanairiktok Bay in a northerly by northeasterly direction to the Bay of Islands;

Then following the coastline of the Bay of Islands in a generally southeasterly direction to Cape Roy;

Then following the northwestern coastline of Kaipokok Bay in a generally southwesterly direction to its confluence with the Kaipokok River;

Then following the southern bank of the Kaipokok River in a westerly direction to East Micmac Lake;

Then following the southern shoreline of East Micmac Lake in a westerly direction to the Kaipokok River;

Then following the southern bank of the Kaipokok River in a generally southwesterly direction to the eastern extremity of West Micmac Lake, the point of commencement.

             (k)  Orma North Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at a point on the Sail Lake Dikes at 54° 25' 27.11” north latitude and 63° 14' 19.76” west longitude;

Then following the northwestern bank of the Sail Lake River in a generally northerly direction to the Kanairiktok River;

Then following the northern bank of Kanairiktok River in a generally easterly direction to its intersection with 62° 55' 41.0" west longitude;

Then following that longitude due south to the northern shoreline of Pike Lake at 53° 54' 49.59” north latitude and 62° 55' 41.0” west longitude;

Then following the northern shoreline of Pike Lake in a westerly, then southerly, then westerly direction to its confluence with Pike River;

Then following the northern bank of Pike River in a generally northwesterly direction to its confluence with the Smallwood Reservoir;

Then following the southern shoreline of Smallwood Reservoir in a generally westerly by northwesterly direction to a point of land at 53° 59' 00.66” north latitude and 63° 38' 17.05” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally westerly by northwesterly direction to 54° 00' 00.0" north latitude and 64° 00' 00.0" west longitude;

Then following 64° 00' 00.0" west longitude due north to its intersection with 54° 21' 22.9" north latitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally easterly by northeasterly direction to the point of commencement.

              (l)  Orma South Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of the northern bank of the Churchill River, also known as the Grand River and the Hamilton River, and 64° 00' 00.0” west longitude;

Then following said river's intersection with 64° 00' 00.0" west longitude due north to 54° 00' 00.0" north latitude;

Then following a straight line in an easterly by southeasterly direction to the intersection with a point of land at 53° 59' 00.66” north latitude and 63° 38' 17.05” west longitude;

Then following the southern shoreline of Smallwood Reservoir in a generally easterly by southeasterly direction to its confluence with the northern bank of Pike River;

Then following the northern bank of Pike River in an easterly by southeasterly direction to Pike Lake;

Then following the northern shoreline of Pike Lake in a generally northeasterly direction to its intersection with 62° 55' 41.0" west longitude;

Then following a straight line due south to the confluence of the Metchin River with an unnamed lake at 53° 36' 08.67” north latitude and 62° 55' 41.00” west longitude;

Then following the northwestern bank of the Metchin River in a generally southwesterly direction to its confluence with the Churchill River;

Then following the northern bank of Churchill River in a northwesterly direction to the point of commencement.

            (m)  Big River Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line commencing at the eastern extremity of West Micmac Lake at 54° 44' 15.64” north latitude and 60° 07' 25.62” west longitude;

Then following the southern bank of the Kaipokok River in a generally easterly direction to East Micmac Lake;

Then following the southern shoreline of East Micmac Lake in a generally easterly direction to the Kaipokok River at said pond's eastern extremity;

Then following said river in an easterly direction to Kaipokok Bay;

Then following the southeastern shoreline of Kaipokok Bay in a generally northeasterly direction to Cape Aillik;

Then following the coastline of the Labrador Sea in a generally southeasterly direction to its confluence with Big River;

Then following the northwestern bank of Big River in a southwesterly direction to the confluence of Big River and a tributary flowing from the eastern extremity of Little Michinappi Lake at 54° 32' 22.69” north latitude and 59° 25' 44.06” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally northwesterly direction to the point of commencement.

             (n)  Nipishish Lake Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the eastern extremity of West Micmac Lake at 54° 44' 15.64” north latitude and 60° 07' 25.62” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally southeasterly direction to the confluence of Big River and a tributary flowing from the eastern extremity of Little Michinappi Lake at 54° 32' 22.69” north latitude and 59° 25' 44.06” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a southwesterly direction to Main River at 54° 12' 35.59” north latitude and 59° 47' 00.73” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a southwesterly direction to the outflow of Mulligan River from the southern extremity of an unnamed lake at 53° 56' 14.46” north latitude and 60° 04' 50.33” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally westerly direction to the confluence of the Naskaupi with the Red Wine Rivers;

Then following the southwestern bank of the Naskaupi River in a generally northwesterly direction to its confluence with the Wapustan River;

Then following the western bank of the Naskaupi River in a generally northwesterly direction to Naskaupi Lake at 54° 13' 50.33” north latitude and 61° 26' 22.83” west longitude;

Then following a straight line due north to the eastern shoreline of Naskaupi Lake;

Then following the eastern shoreline of Naskaupi Lake in a generally northwesterly, then northerly, then northeasterly direction to The Narrows located at 54° 18' 21.09” north latitude and 61° 25' 50.78” west longitude;

Then following the northern bank of the unnamed river in a generally easterly direction to Namaycush Lake;

Then following the western shoreline of Namaycush Lake in a generally northerly direction to its northwestern extremity;

Then following a straight line in a generally north by northwesterly direction to the southern extremity of Pocket Knife Lake;

Then following the western shore of Pocket Knife Lake in a generally northerly direction to its northern extremity;

Then following a straight line in a generally northwesterly direction to the eastern extremity of Belly Fish Lake;

Then following the southern shoreline of the string of interconnected unnamed lakes, streams, and rivers in a generally northeasterly direction to the headwaters of the Kaipokok River at 54° 32' 12.2" north latitude and 61° 15' 43.75" west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally easterly direction to the headwaters stream of the Kaipokok River;

Then following the southern shoreline of the Kaipokok River in a generally northeasterly direction to the point of commencement.

             (o)  Grand Lake Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the southern extremity of an unnamed lake at 53° 56' 14.46” north latitude and 60° 04' 50.33” west longitude;

Then following the western bank of the Mulligan River in a generally southerly direction to its confluence with an unnamed river at 53° 52' 01.32” north latitude and 60° 05' 24.58” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally south by southwesterly direction to the summit of Mokami Hill;

Then following a straight line in a generally southwesterly direction to Ten Mile Point on Grand Lake;

Then following a straight line across Grand Lake in a generally southwesterly direction to Cape Caribou River Cove at 53° 37' 09.58” north latitude and 60° 24' 52.50” west longitude;

Then following the southwest shoreline of Grand Lake in a generally northwesterly direction to Nardini Pond;

Then following the southern shoreline of Nardini Pond in a generally westerly direction to its confluence with the Susan River;

Then following the northern shoreline of Nardini Pond in a generally easterly direction to its confluence with Grand Lake;

Then following the shoreline of Grand Lake in a generally northeasterly, then northerly direction to its confluence with the western bank of the Naskaupi River;

Then following the western bank of the Naskaupi River in a generally northerly, then northwesterly direction to its confluence with the Red Wine River;

Then following a straight line in a generally easterly direction to the point of commencement.

             (p)  Seal Lake Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of 62° 55' 41.00” west longitude with the northern shoreline of Pike Lake at 53° 54' 49.59” north latitude;

Then following 62° 55' 41.00” west longitude in a generally northerly direction to said longitude's intersection with  the northern bank of the Kanairiktok River;

Then following the northern bank of the Kanairiktok River in a generally easterly, then northeasterly direction to its confluence with the northwestern extremity of Snegamook Lake;

Then following a straight line in a generally southeasterly direction to the eastern extremity of Belly Fish Lake;

Then following a straight line in a generally southeasterly direction to the northern extremity of Pocket Knife Lake;

Then following the western shoreline of the Pocket Knife Lake in a generally southerly direction to its southernmost extremity;

Then following a straight line in a southeasterly direction to the northwestern extremity of Namaycush Lake;

Then following the western shoreline of Namaycush Lake in a generally south by southwesterly direction to the unnamed river draining it at 54° 18' 21.35" north latitude and 61° 18' 55.71" west longitude;

Then following the northern bank of this unnamed river in a generally westerly direction to The Narrows at 54° 18' 21.09” north latitude and 61° 25' 50.78” west longitude;

Then following the eastern shoreline of Naskaupi Lake in a generally southwesterly, then southeasterly, then southerly direction to the Naskaupi River at 54° 13' 54.33” north latitude and 61° 26' 22.87” west longitude;

Then following a straight line due south to the western bank of the Naskaupi River;

Then following the western bank of the Naskaupi River in a generally southerly direction to its confluence with the Wapustan River;

Then following the northern bank of the Wapustan River and the northern shoreline of its unnamed headwaters lake in a generally westerly by northwesterly direction to the western extremity of said lake at 54° 08' 13.60” north latitude and 61° 49' 54.89” west longitude;

             (q)  Double Mer Barrens Zone

All that area of Labrador bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of Main River and Sandy Point on Double Mer;

Then following the northern shoreline of Double Mer in a generally northeasterly direction to Whittles Point;

Then following a straight line in a northwesterly direction to Green Point;

Then following the shoreline in a generally southwesterly direction to the northern bank of Tom Luscombe Brook;

Then following the northern bank of Tom Luscombe Brook in a westerly direction to its confluence with an unnamed tributary at 54° 20' 26.1” north latitude and 58° 31' 00.7” west longitude;

Then following the northeastern bank of this unnamed tributary in a westerly direction to its source in Tom Luscombes Pond at 54° 25' 41.32” north latitude and 58° 31' 09.59” west longitude;

Then following the southern shoreline of Tom Luscombes Pond in a generally westerly by northwesterly direction to the outflow of an unnamed brook at 54° 25' 47.07” north latitude and 58° 31' 38.61” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a generally northwesterly direction to the confluence of Big River and a tributary flowing from the eastern extremity of Little Michinappi Lake at 54° 32' 20.88” north latitude and 59° 25' 20.83” west longitude;

Then following a straight line in a southwesterly direction to Main River at 54° 12' 35.59” north latitude and 59° 47' 00.73” west longitude;

Then following the eastern bank of Main River in a southeasterly direction to Double Mer;

Then following a straight line in a southeasterly direction to the north shore of Valley Bay on Lake Melville at 54° 02' 43.09” north latitude and 58° 56' 58.13” west longitude;

Then continuing on this straight line in a generally southerly direction to a point near Burnt Head on Lake Melville at 54° 01' 09.71” north latitude and 58° 56' 18.69” west longitude;

Then following the shoreline in a generally southerly direction to Burnt Head;

Then following the shoreline of Lake Melville in a generally southwesterly direction to Upper Long Point;

Then following a straight line in a generally southwesterly direction to Montagnais Point;

Then following a straight line in a southwesterly direction to the outlet of an unnamed stream on Little Lake at 53° 33' 26.00” north latitude and 60° 10' 23.19” west longitude;

Then following the northern shoreline of Little Lake to the Rapids;

Then following a straight line in a generally south by southwesterly direction to the closest point on the opposite shoreline of the Rapids;

Then following a straight line in a northeasterly direction to the confluence of Mulligan River and an unnamed river at 53° 52' 01.32” north latitude and 60° 05' 24.58” west longitude;

Then following the western bank of the Mulligan River in a generally northerly direction to its confluence with the southern extremity of an unnamed lake at 53° 56' 14.46” north latitude and 60° 04' 50.33” west longitude;
