Dental Regulations (Amendment)
under the
Dental Act, 2008

Under the authority of section 11 of the Dental Act, 2008, the Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Board, with the approval of the Minister of Health and Community Services, makes the following regulations.

        1. Section 5 of the Dental Regulations is repealed and the following substituted:

        5. The class of specialists set out in Column 1 of the following Table opposite the name of the branch of dentistry set out in Column 2 of the Table is the class of specialists in that branch of dentistry:

        2. Section 6 of the regulations is amended by deleting the semicolon at the end of subparagraph (1)(d)(ix) and substituting a comma, and by adding immediately after subparagraph (1)(d)(ix) the following:

                     (x)  oral medicine, successful completion of 36 consecutive months of full-time instruction in an oral medicine program, approved by the board,

                    (xi)  oral medicine and oral pathology, successful completion of 48 months of full-time instruction in an oral medicine and oral pathology program, approved by the board;
