REGULATION 86/17

Roddickton-Bide Arm Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000, I define the following area as the Roddickton-Bide Arm Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

The areas of land described in Schedules A and B together are defined as the Roddickton-Bide Arm Municipal Planning Area.

The Roddickton Municipal Planning Area, Consolidated Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 921/96, is repealed.

Schedule A

Beginning at a point, that point being the intersection of the eastern bank of Northeast Brook and the northern side of a bridge on Route 433 where Route 433 passes over Northeast Brook;

Then running east a distance of 2,400 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,643,039 metres north and 299,273 metres east;

Then running southeast a distance of 6,610  metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,636,645 metres north and 300,950 metres east;

Then running southwest a distance of 2,045 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,634,954 metres north and 299,800 metres east;

Then running west a distance of 900 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,634,954 metres north and 298,900 metres east;

Then running southwest a distance of 2,250 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,634,301 metres north and 296,765 metres east;

Then running west a distance of 1,352 metres, more or less, to the high water mark on the shoreline of Chimney Bay closest to map coordinates 5,634,300 metres north and 295,413 metres east;

Then in a generally northerly direction along the eastern shoreline of Chimney Bay, passing Chaine Point, Dowers Harbour, Scott Point, Roddickton, Adamson Point and Muddy Hole to a point where Northeast Brook flows into Northeast Arm and then continuing along the eastern bank of Northeast Brook to the point of beginning.

All coordinate values were scaled from best available mapping and are referenced to grid north of the North American Datum 1983 (NAD83) using the Modified Transverse Mercator coordinate system (MTM), specifically zone 2 of the Newfoundland mapping system.

Beginning at a point 2,400 metres east of the point of intersection of the eastern bank of Northeast Brook and the northern side of a bridge on Route 433 where Route 433 passes over Northeast Brook closest to map coordinates 5,643,039 metres north and 299,273 metres east;

Then running southeast a distance of 3,209 metres, more or less, to the northern extents of the East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area closest to map coordinates 5,640,351 metres north and 301,027 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area southeast a distance of 1,504 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,639,441 metres north and 302,224 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area southeast a distance of 1,994 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,638,866 metres north and 304,133 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area southeast a distance of 1,308 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,638,147 metres north and 305,225 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area southwest a distance of 1,253 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,637,157 metres north and 304,456 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area southeast a distance of 835 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,636,354 metres north and 304,686 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area southwest a distance of 3,996 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,632,478 metres north and 303,715 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area southwest a distance of 872 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,632,448 metres north and 302,843 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area northwest a distance of 828 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,633,233 metres north and 302,580 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area northwest a distance of 1,653 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,633,363 metres north and 300,932 metres east;

Then following East Brook Pond Protected Public Water Supply Area northwest to a point of intersection with the municipal boundary of Roddickton-Bide Arm, a distance of 1,890 metres, more or less, closest to map coordinates 5,634,879 metres north and 299,803 metres east;

Then following the municipal boundary of Roddickton-Bide Arm south a distance of 5,993 metres, more or less, to the northernmost point of Big Burnt Brook Pond closest to map coordinates 5,628,887 metres north and 299,789 metres east;

Then following the eastern shoreline of Big Burnt Brook Pond in a generally southwesterly direction to where a brook flows out of that pond;

Then following the brook in a generally westerly direction along the centreline of the brook to the eastern shoreline of Bide Arm Inlet closest to map coordinates 5,627,828 metres north and 297,706 metres east;

Then running in a generally northerly direction along the eastern shoreline to the most northerly point of Bide Arm Inlet;

Then running in a generally southerly direction along the western shoreline of Bide Arm Inlet to a point closest to map coordinates 5,628,064 metres north and 297,043 metres east;

Then running west a distance of 2,362 metres, more or less, to a point on the eastern shoreline of Chimney Bay, at the mouth of a small brook which flows from Timber Pond to a point closest to map coordinates 5,628,027 metres north and 294,682 metres east;

Then in a generally northerly direction along the eastern shoreline of Chimney Bay to a point on the shoreline closest to map coordinates 5,634,300 metres north and 295,413 metres east;

Then running east a distance of 1,352 metres, more or less, to a point closest to map coordinates 5,634,301 metres north and 296,765 metres east;

Then running northeast a distance of 2,233 metres, more or less, to a point closest to map coordinates 5,634,954 metres north and 298,900 metres east;

Then running east a distance of 900 metres, more or less, to a point closest to map coordinates 5,634,954 metres north and 299,800 metres east;

Then running northeast a distance of 2,045 metres, more or less, to a point closest to map coordinates 5,636,645 metres north and 300,950 metres east;

Then running northwest a distance of 6,611 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning.
