Highway Traffic Demerit Point System Regulations (Amendment)
under the
Highway Traffic Act
(O.C. 2018-085)

Under the authority of section 186 of the Highway Traffic Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations.

        1. (1) The Schedule to the Highway Traffic Demerit Point System Regulations is amended by deleting the row respecting an offence under paragraph 110(3)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act and substituting the following:

 

110(3)(d)

Exceeding the speed limit by between 31 and 50 kilometres an hour

110(3)(e)

4

Exceeding the speed limit by 51 kilometres an hour and over

110.01

Driving without due care and attention or reasonable consideration for others causing death or bodily harm

             (2)  The Schedule to the regulations is amended by deleting the row respecting an offence under paragraph 110.1(4)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act and substituting the following:

Exceeding the speed limit by between 31 and 50 kilometres an hour

Exceeding the speed limit by 51 kilometres an hour and over

             (3)  The Schedule to the regulations is amended by deleting the row respecting an offence under paragraph 110.2(4)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act and substituting the following:

             (4)  The Schedule to the regulations is amended by adding immediately after the row respecting an offence under section 168 of the Highway Traffic Act the following:

Commencement

        2. These regulations come into force on June 7, 2018.
