Baie Verte Peninsula – Green Bay Regional
Service Board Regulations
under the
 Regional Service Boards Act, 2012

Under the authority of sections 7 and 19 of the Regional Service Boards Act, 2012, I make the following regulations.

Short title

        1. These regulations may be cited as the Baie Verte Peninsula – Green Bay Regional Service Board Regulations.

Definition

        2. In these regulations, "board" means the Baie Verte Peninsula – Green Bay Regional Service Board.

Wards

        3. (1) The Baie Verte Peninsula – Green Bay Region shall be divided into wards as follows:

             (a)  Ward 1 shall be comprised of the town of Baie Verte;

             (b)  Ward 2 shall be comprised of the following communities:

                      (i)  Brent's Cove,

                     (ii)  Burlington,

                    (iii)  Coachman's Cove,

                    (iv)  Fleur de Lys,

                     (v)  Harbour Round,

                    (vi)  La Scie,

                   (vii)  Middle Arm,

                  (viii)  Ming's Bight,

                    (ix)  Nippers Harbour,

                     (x)  Pacquet,

                    (xi)  Purbeck's Cove,

                   (xii)  Round Harbour,

                  (xiii)  Seal Cove, W. B.,

                 (xiv)  Shoe Cove,

                  (xv)  Smith's Harbour,

                 (xvi)  Snook's Arm,

                (xvii)  Tilt Cove,

               (xviii)  Westport,

                 (xix)  Wild Cove, and

                  (xx)  Woodstock;

             (c)  Ward 3 shall be comprised of the town of Springdale;

             (d)  Ward 4 shall be comprised of the following communities:

                      (i)  Beachside,

                     (ii)  Brighton,

                    (iii)  Harry's Harbour,

                    (iv)  Jackson's Cove – Langdon's Cove – Silverdale,

                     (v)  King's Point,

                    (vi)  Little Bay,

                   (vii)  Little Bay Islands,

                  (viii)  Lushes Bight – Beaumont – Beaumont North,

                    (ix)  Miles Cove,

                     (x)  Pilley's Island,

                    (xi)  Port Anson,

                   (xii)  Rattling Brook,

                  (xiii)  Robert's Arm,

                 (xiv)  Sheppardville,

                  (xv)  South Brook,

                 (xvi)  St. Patrick's, and

                (xvii)  Triton.

             (2)  The number of members appointed or elected to the board from each ward shall be as follows:

             (a)  one member from Ward 1;

             (b)  5 members from Ward 2;

             (c)  one member from Ward 3; and

             (d)  5 members from Ward 4.

Prescribed services

        4. The board has the power to construct, acquire, maintain and operate a waste management system within the Baie Verte Peninsula – Green Bay Region.

Recovery of debt

        5. An amount owing under section 24 of the Act is a debt due to the board and the board may recover it by civil action in a court.

Withdrawal of service

        6. The board may stop providing a service to a municipal authority, user or other person where the municipal authority, user or other person fails to comply with a policy of the board respecting the service.
