Restricted Travel Area Order
under the
 Forestry Act

Under the authority of section 93 of the Forestry Act, I make the following Order.

ORDER

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Restricted Travel Area Order.

Definitions

        2. In this Order,

             (a)  "off-road vehicle" means off-road vehicle as defined in the Off-Road Vehicles Act; and

             (b)  "restricted travel area" means the area described in section 3.

Restricted travel area

        3. All forest land in the province is a restricted travel area.

Exception

        4. Notwithstanding section 3, a person may travel through or be in a restricted travel area except while operating an off-road vehicle when the fire weather index is high, very high or extreme.

Use of off-road vehicle to exit restricted travel area

        5. Notwithstanding section 4, for the purposes of exiting a restricted travel area, a person may, on or before 11:59 on August 15, 2025, operate an off-road vehicle through or in a restricted travel area when the fire weather index is high, very high or extreme where

             (a)  the person is in a restricted travel area on the coming into force of this Order; and

             (b)  the operation of an off-road vehicle is required for the person to exit the restricted travel area.

        6. This Order remains in effect until 11:59 p.m. on August 17, 2025.
