Municipal Conduct Regulations (Amendment)
under the
Municipal Conduct Act

Under the authority of section 22 of the Municipal Conduct Act, I make the following regulations.

        1. (1) Paragraph 8(2)(b) of the Municipal Conduct Regulations is repealed and the following substituted:

             (b)  6 months of being sworn or affirmed into office, where a councillor becomes a councillor more than one year after the coming into force of the Act.

             (2)  Subsection 8(4) of the regulations is repealed and the following substituted:

             (4)  Notwithstanding paragraph (2)(b), the minister may extend the 6-month time period at the request of a councillor.
