Town of Bishop's Falls Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96‑170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

ORDER

Analysis

Short title

1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Bishop's Falls Order.

Boundaries

2. The boundaries of the Town of Bishop's Falls are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

3. Newfoundland Regulations 692/78 and 238/84 are repealed.

Schedule

Beginning at the most northwesterly point of an inlet on the northern shore of the Exploits River 2,000 metres, more or less, downstream from the mouth of Great Rattling Brook;

Then north 43° 30' west a distance of 1,775 metres, more or less, to an unnamed brook flowing into Peters River;

Then north 42° 00' east a distance of 5,900 metres, more or less, to the most northerly point of an unnamed pond which flows into Peters River;

Then north 85° 30' east a distance of 2,550 metres, more or less, to the transmission line running between Bishop's Falls and Botwood;

Then in a northeasterly direction along the transmission line a distance of 1,800 metres, more or less;

Then south 70° 30' east a distance of 1,200 metres, more or less, to the intersection of Highway 350 and the old railway right‑of‑way;

Then south 75° 30' east a distance of 2,850 metres, more or less, to a point on the northern shoreline of the Exploits River, that point being 1,000 metres, more or less, downstream from the mouth of Jumpers Brook;

Then in a generally southwesterly direction along the northern shoreline of the Exploits River to the point of beginning.

All bearings being referred to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the l:50,000 National Topographic Maps, 1981 edition.
