Town of Burin Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96‑170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Schedule


Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Burin Order.

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Burin are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulation 702/78 is repealed.


Schedule

Beginning at a coastal point at Whitepatch, that point being at UTM grid co‑ordinate 640 460 metres east, 5 212 110 metres north;

Then following the shoreline by way of Little Burin Harbour, Ship Cove, Burin Passage and Whale Cove and then along the shoreline of Burin Inlet to a point between Salt Pond and Lewin's Cove, that point being at UTM grid co‑ordinate 636 000 metres east, 5 216 950 metres north;

Then running north 31° west 1,150 metres, more or less;

Then running north 50° west 1,550 metres, more or less;

Then running north 2° east 4,400 metres, more or less, to the point at UTM grid co‑ordinate 638 630 metres east, 5 219 080 metres north;

Then running south 32° 30' east 5,350 metres, more or less;

Then running south 41° west 2,450 metres, more or less;

Then running south 43° east 800 metres, more or less, to Whitepatch at the point of beginning.

All bearings being referred to UTM grid and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:50,000 map 1 M/3, edition 3, 1988.
