Community of Cape St. George Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96‑170)

Under the authority of section 257 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Schedule


Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Community of Cape St. George Order.

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Community of Cape St. George are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 616/78, 135/87 and 158/95 are repealed.


Schedule

Beginning at a point at the highwater mark on the westernmost tip of the Port au Port Peninsula and known as Cape St. George and having a grid reference of 321703;

Then in a generally northeasterly direction along the sinuosities of the shoreline of St. Georges Bay a distance of 13,000 metres, more or less, to a point of the western bank of Marches Point Brook where the brook flows into St. Georges Bay;

Then north 22° 30' west a distance of 1,700 metres, more or less;

Then south 67° 30' west a distance of 11,600 metres, more or less, to a point on the highwater mark on the shoreline of the Gulf of St. Lawrence;

Then in a generally southwesterly direction along the sinuosities of the shoreline a distance of 1,780 metres, more or less, to the point of commencement.

All bearings herein refer to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping.
