Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.
1. Short title
1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Conception Bay South Order.
2. The boundaries of the Town of
Beginning at a point on the eastern shoreline of Conception Bay at Topsail Head and more precisely having MTM co‑ordinates north 5 267 062.679 metres and east 311 228.933 metres;
Then south 89° 58' 09" east 23 metres and south 89° 58' 09" east 13.9 metres and south 26° 17' 14" east 344.155 metres and south 16° 22' 34" west 199.234 metres and south 0° 26' 48" west 396.212 metres to a point having co‑ordinates north 5 267 062.679 metres and east 311 228.933 metres;
Then south 13° 00' east 1,455 metres, more or less, to a point on the centre line of Highway 60 and being at the centre point in the Topsail Road bridge over Topsail Pond River;
Then south 23° 45' west 80 metres, more or less, to a point on the northern sideline of the Canadian National Railway right‑of‑way at co‑ordinates north 5 265 572 metres and east 311 520 metres;
Then in a general westerly direction along the northern sideline of the right‑of‑way 1,660 metres, more or less, to a point on an unnamed indefinite stream at co‑ordinates north 5 264 926 metres and east 310 416 metres;
Then in a southeasterly direction along the stream crossing the right‑of‑way, Spruce Hill Road Extension to a point on a line 200 metres from the western sideline of Round Pond Road, at co‑ordinates north 5 264 575 metres and east 310 698 metres;
Then in a southeasterly direction along a line parallel to and 200 metres from the sideline of the road to a point on a power transmission (centre) line;
Then in a southwesterly direction along the transmission (centre) line to a point on Fowlers Brook at co‑ordinates north 5 263 279 metres and east 310 687 metres;
Then in a southeasterly direction along the brook 600 metres, more or less, to a point on the northern sideline of Route 2, St. John's Harbour Arterial Road;
Then south 31° 00' west 1,055 metres, more or less, to a point on the southern bank of Manuels River at co‑ordinates north 5 261 936 metres and east 310 482 metres;
Then south 21° 30' west to the southernmost end of Wych Hazel Pond and proceeding southwestwardly to the northernmost end of Gull Pond;
Then running north 76° 00' west 2,850 metres, more or less, to the point of intersection of the power transmission (centre) line with Kelligrews River;
Then following the transmission (centre) line southwestward to the western sideline of Morgan's Road;
Then along the western sideline of Morgan's Road in a generally southerly direction a distance of 1,520 metres, more or less, to a point, that point having co‑ordinates north 5 256 620 metres and east 301 900 metres;
Then running due west a distance of 1,290 metres, more or less, to a point on the northern shoreline of White Hill Pond;
Then along the northwestern end of White
Hill Pond to the western end of the
Then south 48° 30' west 2,700 metres, more or less, to the point of intersection of the Indian Pond generating station transmission line with the western bank of Quarry Brook;
Then running northwardly along the western bank of Quarry Brook to and then northwestward along the southwestern shoreline of Indian Pond to the western end of Indian Pond and then westward to the coastline;
Then following the coastline of
All bearings refer to grid north, central meridian 53° west longitude, and as with distances and co‑ordinates given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:12,500 and 1:2500 Crown Lands and Surveys Division Mapping, 1973/81 editions.
