Town of Harbour Main - Chapel's Cove - Lakeview Order
under the
Municipalities Act
(O.C. 96-170)

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act, the Lieutenant‑Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Harbour Main ‑ Chapel's Cove ‑ Lakeview Order.

Boundaries

        2. The boundaries of the Town of Harbour Main ‑ Chapel's Cove ‑ Lakeview are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

        3. Newfoundland Regulations 880/78 and 36/83 are repealed.


Schedule

Beginning at a coastal point 110 metres, more or less, due east from the summit of Blow Me Down Bluff;

Then running due west 110 metres, more or less, to the summit of Blow Me Down Bluff;

Then running south 46° west a distance of 1,070 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then along a line parallel to and 70 metres eastward from the centre line of Ridge Road to a point bearing south 14° west a distance of 120 metres, more or less, from the last given point;

Then along a line parallel to and 10 metres northward from the centre line of Williams Road running southwestward to a point bearing south 60° west a distance of 80 metres, more or less, from the last given point;

Then running north 76° west a distance of 350 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then running south 23° west a distance of 1,010 metres, more or less, to a point at the northern sideline of the Conception Bay Highway;

Then running due south 30 metres to a point at the southern sideline of the Conception Bay Highway;

Then running south 59° west a distance of 1,750 metres, more or less, to a point at the centre line of the Canadian National Railway right‑of‑way;

Then following the centre line of the right‑of‑way in a westerly direction a distance of 290 metres, more or less, to the eastern bank of Maloney's River and then along the river in a generally southerly direction to the northern end of Harbour Main Pond;

Then following the eastern shoreline of Harbour Main Pond in a generally southerly direction to the southern end of the pond;

Then due south a distance of 280 metres, more or less, to the northern sideline of the Trans Canada Highway;

Then following the northern sideline of the Trans Canada Highway in a generally westerly direction a distance of 860 metres, more or less, to a point 150 metres due south of the southern end of Nord Pond;

Then running due north 150 metres to the southern end of Nord Pond;

Then running in a generally northeasterly direction along the western shoreline of Nord Pond to a point being the most northeastern point of the pond;

Then running north 19° east a distance of 3,030 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the most southwestern point of Lees Pond;

Then running in a generally northerly direction along the eastern shoreline of Lees Pond to the northern end of the pond;

Then running north 24° east a distance of 1,950 metres, more or less, to a point on the southern sideline of the Conception Bay Highway;

Then due north 30 metres to a point, that point being the intersection of the northern sideline of the Conception Bay Highway and the western sideline of Cemetery Road;

Then running northeastward along the western sideline of Cemetery Road a distance of 920 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then running north 36° west a distance of 450 metres, more or less, to a coastal point in Gasters Bay;

Then following the coastline of Gasters, Harbour Main and Holyrood Bays to the point of beginning.

All bearings refer to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500 and 1:5000 Newfoundland and Labrador Forest Resources and Lands Mapping, 1982 editions.
